JC looks at me, and I smile weakly. "So, Amanda Caylen, do you really want to drop the charges?" The lawyer asks. "Yes." I say. Kian looks at me, his jaw open at an odd angle. "I am sure." JC squeezes my hand. The lawyer smiles sympathetically, as he puts the papers through the shredder. After we walk out, Kian pulls me to the side. "Why?" He asks. "Why are you forgiving him AGAIN?" I look at my feet. "Because." I say. "I love him." I say, and walk away. "Mommy?" Asks Sofia. "Yes?" I say. "Is Kiki going to marry Aunty Lucy?" She asks. "I don't know. Maybe." Lucy says.
