A/N Hiya guys... this is the last chapter of this book. For those of you who are panicking right now it the Jessica Parks Chronicles so there will be a second book. Now enjoy...
I left the gang outside whilst I went up to my room. As I washed the dried blood off my legs I heard a knock on my door.
"Who is it?!" I shouted walking to the door. I looked through the peep hole. It was Masie one of the house mistresses.
"What did I do?" I asked, opening the door for her.
"Oh you did nothing. There's someone downstairs waiting for you with Miss Jackson." Masie replied.
"Oh?" I started wondering, "Thanks Masie." I grabbed my shoes and put them on.
"I'm sure it's nothing dearie." She placed a warm hand on my shoulder gently, "You'll be fine." She smiled.
I smiled back, "Yeah. I'll see you soon."
Masie was like a second mother to me. She was about forty years old and had been a house mistress since I arrived here. She was the motherly figure I'd never had.
I walked downstairs.
What I saw was very unexpected.
Miss Jackson was standing there with Ms Brown, a man I'd never seen before in my life and... my mother. My anger started simmering.
"What the hell is going on?!" I shouted through gritted teeth.
The last time I saw my mum was almost nine years ago, so for her to actually be here it had to be something big. I walked over to the group reluctantly.
"Jessica. Calm down." She said to me.
"My name is Jessi." I snapped, "Why are you here?!"
"Jess." Miss Jackson said, "We need you to calm down."
"Why?" I asked looking at her.
"We've called Mark down as well, we're just waiting for him."
Wait? Mark?! Why?
"Why Mark?" I asked.
It was Ms Brown who spoke next, "Something has turned up and it involves you both." She explained.
Mark walked in. He made eye contact with me and then saw my mum. He immediately ran to my side. I smiled.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Wouldn't we all like to know." I muttered.
"Let's go into my office." Ms Brown said after an awkward silence came over us all.
We started walking. Mark took my arm and whispered in my ear as we were walking, "Are you ok Jess? You have a face like thunder."
"Why does she have to be here?" I whispered back angrily, "She's never been here before now, she's never been there for me when I needed her. So what's so bad that she had to come. What happened that made her have to be here. 'Cause you and me both know that it's not out of the kindness of her heart." Mark stayed silent during my quiet rant. I was grateful for it. I really was lucky to have him as a friend.
Once we were all seated Ms Brown cleared her throat, "I'm sorry to disturb you all but this something quite important."
"Obviously." I said.
"As I was saying. This is of great urgency and needs to be discussed." Ms Brown told us.
"Well get on with it then!" I waved my hands in frustration.
