Chapter III

Autumn's POV

When I wake up, mom was already setting the table for breakfast. She notice me when I move so she told me to wash my face and hands so we can eat now while the food is hot, I obeyed her.

I'm glad that mom brought new hygiene products for me. Pagkalabas ko sa cr, nakita ko si mom na nagtitimpla ng kape at isang kulay pink na inumin.

Naintriga talaga ako sa tinitimpa ni mommy kaya inamoy ko. Hmmm strawberry! Mom suddenly laugh kaya inilayo ko sa mukha ko sa kulay pink na inumin. Baka akala niya aso ako huhu

"Your still going crazy over strawberry, dear", mom declared. Paborito ko ba 'to? Mukha kasi talagang masarap eh. "What this mom?",i asked so I could buy some more if I like it.

"Try it. It's your favourite strawberry milk",binigay ni mommy sa'kin kaya tinikman ko. Whooo! Ansarap ah.

Strawberry addict pala ako hahaha. Iginaya ako ni mom sa small table tapos kumain na kami. Ang tahimik naman naming kumain, baka mapanis laway ko. Habang kumakain, nag-iisip na ako ng mga itatanong kay mom baka makatulong sa recovery ko.

"Go on, I know you want to ask",mom seems to notice so she permitted me to ask. Ang galing ng instinct ni mom! Ganito ba talaga kapag nanay? Alam na alam ang anak nila? Gusto ko narin maging nanay, jwk HAHAHAH

"Aa-ah can you tell a story about me, mom?", I asked politely. Hindi ko kasi alam anong uunahin ko sa dami ng mga tanong ko eh.

She smiled at me and started to speak,"Hmm... You are a fresh grad journalist and started working 3 months ago. Your our only daughter. I'm retired journalist too, just like you. You idolize me when you where young so you followed me on my path. Your dad was little disappointed because he is a business man, he taught you would follow his path", mom giggle and continue talking.

" We have several investment companies including in other countries which your dad is right now".

Tumatango- tango lang ako sa lahat sinabi ni mom. Wow! Hindi nga ako nagkamali, I think we have decent life. "Journalist? Saang companiy ako nagtatrabaho mom? And several companies? Ilan 'yun? 5? 6? And where countries do we have companies? Can I go and visit someday when I recover? And where is dad right now?",atat na tanong ko.

Mom cutely giggle."Your born to be journalist, Autumn. Andami mong tanong, pwede bang isa- isa lang muna?",she said, giggling again . Parang natutuwa pa siya sa inasal ko kesa pagalitan ako. Kung ako tatanungin ng ganun sguro magagalit ako sa dami hahha

Like mother, like daughter nga diba. Kaya siguro napagdesisyonan kong maging journalist dahil ang daldal ko. Tsk.

I nodded and waited mom to speak again. "What was your first question again, hija?",she asked, trying to remember my first question.

" What and where company do I work for?"hindi ko man maalala ang mga companya ngayon, pwede ko namang iresearch mamaya hehe. "Villa newspaper", mom said.

"Ilang companya meron si dad, mom?"dito talaga ako nacurious eh. Sino ba kasi ang hindi maiintriga sa several companies na 'yan? Syempre hindi ako. Journalist kaya 'to! Huh!

"Just 7, nagpaplano palang ang dad mong magtayo sa Korea and Japan because people there are busines minded, they will invest, I hope"

Oohh! I like it. Asian people. "Did I visited dad companies already, mom?",tanong ko. To think that I am not business minded, as what mom mentioned, pepwede din namang nakabisita na ako sa dami ng gusto kong malaman sa company ni dad diba?

"Oh you haven't dear. You didn't want to take a leave in work but everyone in the company already knew you, so you're popular in both business and news industry"mom explain. Ohhh so I'm quite popular

"So where is dad right now mom? I thought dito lang company niya sa Pilipinas eh, hindi tuloy ako nakapagpaalam ng maayos",sabi ko ng may bahid ng pagkadismaya ang boses.

Mom just tap my shoulder and said, "It's okay, hija. Your father will immediately come home after he's done with it". I strech my lips to make it smile so mom wouldn't be worried.

"And to answer your question, your dad is in Washington". Whooow! Washington! Have I been there already? Di ko maalala eh, sayang naman yung memories ko kung sakaling nakapunta na talaga ako. Sana naman may mga pictures ako sa mga napuntahan kong lugar.

Okay lang 'yon! Doc said that it will eventually come back. Yes! That's the fighting spirit, Autumn!

"So...may itatanong ka pa ba, Autumn?",mom asked, waiting for my follow up questions.

"Who was that guy from yesterday mom? The guy that was wearing hoodie"i gave her little description, baka kasi yung doctor ang isipin ni mom,Inisip ko talaga tong mabuti no!

"Ohh,.." she stop and giggled like a little child. " You can just ask him, dear. Why do you ask? Do you find him handsome? Yiiie",mom made a teasing sound.

"Mooooom",reklamo ko naman kahit kinikilig talaga ako. Nakakahiya! Baka kilig-kilig ako dito pagkatapos kapatid ko pala talaga siya. O kaya naman pinsan? Yuck! Ayoko pa naman ng family stroke HAHAHHA

"What?",she asked in an indenial tone. "He's handsome naman talaga for me. Very handsome actually!",mom said it like a proud mom that would boast his son.

"Agree, and his mole on his nose! It's attractive. By the way mom, who's older among us?"i asked all of the sudden.

Bakit ba? Para alam ko naman kung paano siya iaadress kung magkita kami uli. Hindi ako assuming mga bebs. Siya kaya nagsabi na babalik siya!

"He's just 2 yrs ahead of you. Why do you ask?", mom's face became puzzle.Oh.I thought we're just tha same age.

Ah! Oo nga. Di nga pala pwede 'yun! Di naman kami magkamukha siguro? So he's my older brother. Right!

Why did I even think of it! "He has baby face",i said it on a low tone, wanting to end the conversation but I suddenly remembered my last and most important question.

"Last question mom",i smiled and making sign using my finger. Mom smiled and nodded. "Anong nangyari sa'kin, mom? Bakit ako nandito sa ospital?"

Mom looks worried but it suddenly and change into serious. "Accident", she answered in a serious tone and got up.

Is she ignoring my question?  "Wha-",magtatanong pa sana ako kung anong klaseng aksidente ng biglang dumating yung doctor.
