Chapter 8: ______ Affinity?

This chapter was not made the same day as others, I kinda lost inspiration after chapter 7 and was exhausted from no sleep- My sleep schedule was in shambles recently due to end of school and me playing genshin impact now- It's sad the Ayaka banner is gonna end soon, I really wanted her! But hey! At least I got C2 Chongyun! I am quite satisfied with my C2 Popsicle boi. Anyways~ On with the story!

It was currently dusk, the perfect time of day to host a party or just relax and stare at the dazzling moonlight. A ballroom could be seen with emptiness, as it was only filled with tables around the front to middle area where the dance floor was located. Two grand doors opened, as the room started filling up with nobles, barons and all types of people with high class, even the royal family attended. Through the halls could be seen that two boys were roaming, one older than the other. The hallway's walls were vibrating, these specific areas had thin walls, that the chatter inside the ballroom could be heard.

"Damn these nobles! Who do they think they are talking ill abo-" The older male was cut off by the younger.
"Calm down, and it's not like i'm bothered by it. Plus, let's hurry up, wouldn't want to be late to my own ceremony now do I?" The latter asked the older boy. The older couldn't help but just groan but nodded his head and followed the younger who's finding their way upstairs.
'Still, he is right... Why does gossip spread like wildfire here! I have feelings too!' The younger internally whined.

"Are the preparations ready? Is everything set? Tell me nothing will go wrong for my baby!" A woman that looked younger than her age shrieked as she was anxious to the brim.
"Hun, you worry too much. Is this how a duchess act?" A male grunted but also felt anxious toward his offspring.
"I know, I know... It's just.. He grew up so fast! First thing you know he'll be hugging you, now he's training with his older brother!" The anxious woman whined.
"And he looks too elegant to be playing with swords!" She sighed.
"If only, he was a girl.." The woman grew gloomy.
"Don't say such nonsense! We are proud of him and his brother, despite one of them looking more feminine than the other... What if other people take advantage of him.. No-" Now the man grew wary as well.

A boy sitting on a couch with an older boy grew annoyed. 'Why is my family so clingy!' The younger complained.
"You know i'm here, right." The boy gave a glare to his parents but it turned to be a pout in everyone else's point of view. 'Dang this feminine body! I can't even look scary!' The boy cried internally.
"Master, mistress, young masters, it's time for your entrance." A butler informed. Everyone turned tense, the air getting denser.

"Don't worry, I can handle myself, okay? So please, stop babying me!" The youngest in the room whined, but it was also to lift the mood. Which worked. Everyone chuckled a little.
"You'll always be our little white bunny. Let us carry on then, shall we?" The 2nd oldest asked, everyone putting on their stoic faces.

The head butler exited two doors. Suddenly, all chatter died down as they noticed the presence of the head butler of the household. The room fell into silence as the moody music stopped. The head butler cleared his throat to gain everyone's attention.
"Greetings, I welcome you all to young master Yuu's Coming-of-Age ceremony which is celebrated today on his 13th birthday. May I introduce.." He paused and took a deep breath.

"Grand Duke Rosea along with his wife, duchess Rosea!" He exclaimed.
And yes, the duke has been promoted into the title "Grand Duke" a year prior, but he is still in the alliance of the four dukedoms. This means that he has the authority that is less than or greater to the king himself, but the politics highly believe that the grand duke and the king's authority are on par.
The two people mentioned took a step outside the door, finally revealing their elegance ans showing off their high nobility without efforts. Applause was heard for a few minutes as they both waved at their guests. The wife of the grand duke smiled when she saw her childhood best friend, the queen. She couldn't wait to talk to her, it has been a year since they last spoke, which was when they congratulated her husband on getting the title "Grand Duke". The applause soon died down when the head butler cleared his throat once again, indicating that he wanted silence. An intimidating head butler indeed.
