I scanned the selection of organic dog foods while my wrist was being harshly tugged by the large beast. "Hey, cute dog." A brown haired man in his early thirties commented. "Thanks, your is too." "What's his name?" "Nero, yours?" "I'm Alex and this is Bandit." "I'm Aerisa (air-is-a). I started to pull out the 40 pound bag "need help?" He smiled "no I'm good." As I started to grip the bag the leash slid off of my wrist freeing the anxious dog. "Fuck" I yelled running after him "stay." I herd behind me as Alex ran past me chasing him out and around the parking lot. "Nero!" I called repeatedly each time being ignored.
Finally he managed to step on the leash but was soon knocked down when jump on by the Great Pyrenees. I ran over and pulled him off leaving the slobber covered man on the ground. I tightly wrapped the leash around my arm. "thank you so much." "No problem." He started pulling me towards the store entrance. "you sure you don't need help?" He laughed.
"No this is how our walks usually go, well without the running away thing." I got back to the isle and he put the bag in the cart and picked up the leash. "Good boy." He threw a small treat to the well behaved dog. I pushed the cart along to the check out and paid for the food before returning to my car. "here let me get it for you." He put the large bag in the opened trunk. "Thanks again." "Anytime, so are you busy tonight?" He asked rubbing the back of his neck.
"Yeah, I have a date with my couch." I replied smugly. "Any way you could break it for a dinner with me instead?" He leaned against my car. " I'd rather not." I opened the door, and put Nero in the back. "Could I at least maybe call you sometime?" He smiled hopefully standing in front of my door. "Will you let me in my car if I give you my number?" I replaced he hair behind my sunglasses arm. "yes." " 891-569-4239" "wait a second." He pulled out his phone "569-4239?" He confirmed. "Yes now will you please move. He opened the door and closed it after I was in. "I'll call you." I have a fake smiled and started to back out.

I opened my apartment door and took the leash off dragging the dog food into the kitchen. "go lay down." I commanded pointing at the large dog bed. He smiled and looked up at me wagging his fluffy tailed. I poured the door in the bin and walked into my room collapsing on the soft foam mattress. Soon the Nero followed and laid his large head on my stomach.
"I need an easy friend, I do. with an ear to lend." I reached over silencing Kurt Cobain "hello?" I questioned "hey, Aerisa?" "Let me take a guess, Alex?" "Yeah." He laughed "Well I was wondering that offer for dinner still stands." I let the line go quiet for a moment "listen Alex it's not gonna happen you're not my type." I stated laying back into the soft pillows once again. "well I don't think you know me, my appearance might come off as rough but I'm actually a nice guy." He stated. "I'm sure you are just not the kind I would date. Good bye Alex" I ended the call and placed the phone under my pillow.
I could hear the dim sound of my ringtone play a few time before it finally gave up. Changing from legging into jogging shorts and an oversized sweatshirt. I removed my black sunglasses and placed the on the bedside table before crawling in.
