Sapnap looked at Karl one last time, before turning his full attention to Quackity.
"So who are you, Quackity?"
"I'm just a kid who gets by. I take care of my family and jazz, and I make sure we have enough money for rent and enough food to survive."
"All that responsibilities-??"
"Yeah. My father always lay sick while my mom has to take care of 3 other kids. I'm the oldest, it's just my job, y'know?"
"Damn dude.. how old are you?"
"14,"
"You're 14 and doing all of that?!"
"Yep. I do what I gotta to make sure they're safe."
"Holy shit.."
Quackity gave an amused chuckle at Sapnap's reaction. His life and responsibilities are so normal for him, so watching someone be so distraught and confused was a bit charming.
Sapnap cracked his knuckles, while Quackity cracked his neck. They both looked at Karl for a minute or two, watching the brunette's chest rise and fall with every slow breath his unconscious body took.
"What about you? Who are you, Sapnap?"
"I'm just a kid getting by, too. My old man and my mom aren't the most wealthy like those on the other side of town, but we aint broke. Kinda like a middle ground, y'know? Not dyin', but not bathing in cash."
Quackity nodded along to the other one's words. He paid attention to Sapnaps posture while he talked, seeing as he looked relaxed and overall honest. Quackity had learned you can tell whether someone's lying or not based off posture, so it's really helping him now.
"How old are you?" The beanie-wearing one asked. Sapnap had a natural smile tugged on the corner of his lips.
"I'm 14, too. Im about to turn 15 next Wednesday, though."
"Oh damn! I'll grab you something, then! But I don't turn 15 for another month and a half."
"You don't gotta! Don't worry about it!"
"Nope, my mind is set, I'm getting you something." Quackity said, giving a playful attitude and a hopeful smile. Sapnap chuckled, with the same smile that Quackity has on, and rolled his eyes.
"Can I ask something you hate?" Sapnap asked curiously.
"Society, mostly. I hate how it determines your importance by whether you're rich or broke. Though, of course, this is bias considering,, y'know."
Sapnap nodded.
"No, but I totally get it. And it's the same here. It's also hard to fit in too, cause Im not rich, so Im not there, but Im not broke, so I'm not there either."
This time, Quackity nodded.
Both of there attentions turned to Karl, as he slightly shifted in his sleep. Not stirring, but moving so his body is comfortable.
"Tell me about Karl."
Sapnap had a small, yet soft smile on, now. His eyes fell upon his unconscious partner, deep down hoping he'll be alright.
"He's amazing. The world and more. He's the same as me, not rich, but not too poor. And same views on society as you an I.. He's just amazing at everything.. he's real sweet.. I can be a hot head while he'll never be one. He's just..."
