"I'm out." Fives groaned as he laid down his cards. He ran his hands down his face in frustration while the rest of the table laughed at him. All except Commander Cody.
"Dank Farrik, I've bombed out too." Cody slammed his cards down at the table and mumbled his number. Everyone at the table howled with laughter, slapping their hands together as you all watched the Commander roll his eyes and grumbled away.
"Alright Wolffe, you're up next. Bring it on bud." You taunted, cracking your knuckles in anticipation. His eyes narrowed at you. As he laid down his cards, he kicked his feet back up on the table, laying his hands behind his back.
"Can't beat this sweetheart, I've got a nineteen." Wolffe grinned, his cybernetic eye winking at you. You rolled your eyes, but not before letting out a laugh. You looked at Sinker who was behind you, snickering quietly. You both nodded at each other before tossing your cards towards Wolffe.
"Try again bitch. I got a 22." Wolffe hung his head in defeat while you and Sinker high-fived. You were pretty confident Rex wouldn't be able to beat you. He needed an Idiot's Array or a perfect twenty-three to win the pot. Rex stared you down as he held the cards up to his face while drumming his fingers on the table. As soon as you saw the twenty-three land down on the table you slumped down in your chair, groaning as you pushed your credits in the Captain's direction. The table thumped as the boys clapped, shouted, and such with either excitement or disappointment.
Rex fist bumped Echo who was spectating and let out a loud laugh as he collected his money for the night. You and Sinker shook your heads in mock frustration. "Cap, I demand a rematch. I will not stand for this."
"Just get ready to get your ass kicked again though." You stuck your tongue out at him. "We doing the ice cream run now?"
"Hell yeah. Any requests boys?"
Fives immediately raises his hand. "Oh, me! Me! Can you get pistachio ice cream with the nut chunks?" Everybody turned to Fives. Echo slapped him upside the head. "Ow!"
"Uh, any other requests?"
"Rocky Road, please!"
"Cookie Two-Step!" You and Rex nodded, and headed out to the store.

"So how's it going with that one pilot? You ask her out yet?" Rex looked away, rubbing the back of his neck.
"So we're kind of dating now." You whipped your head around to face the red faced captain.
"Since when? It's about time I'll say." You turned back to the ice cream section, looking for Sinker's Rocky Road ice cream.
"Since yesterday, actually."
"You should've brought her to the sabaac games tonight. I would love to officially meet her, instead of only hearing you fawn over her from afar. Oh! I know. Bring her next week when we do the Captain's tournament. You said you're also bringing another captain friend I haven't met, so it'll practically be a Sabaac social!"
Rex snickered at the statement. "Yeah, I'll bring her."

Rex's girlfriend was just about the funniest person you've ever met. War sucked a lot when in full swing, but she had plenty of stories in the duration of the war. How one of the Jedi commanders that briefly worked with the 501st always used to annoy Rex by using the Force to lift him and the rest of the troopers in the air. Or how one time her and Fives decided to prank Rex by doing the good 'ol bucket on top of the door trick. You remembered that one week where Rex had pink hair and finally attributed the cause of it, and of course why Fives was on fresher duty for the rest of the war.
