Brice POV
Walking into the banquet hall hand in hand with Alex we see yellow flowers everywhere. Today is Blessing's baby shower cause that baby is coming in a few more months. Alex holds the huge gift as we spot Blessing in a huge dress showing her visible baby bump and Taylor standing right next to her.
I see many of our old high school friends and family members. We walk over to the happy couple and Taylor takes the gift from Alex.
"Things came together beautifully" I smile.
"Thanks. It was all Fredo and Angel." Blessing smiles
"That cake looks Devine." Alex states looking at the huge .cake.
"Oh Emma made that." Blessing shrugs and my mouth hangs open.
Didn't know the girl could bake.
"Well we are just gonna go take our seats" I say after hugging her and Alex does the same.
We walk off to the side and sit at a round table decorated with confetti and plastic bottles and everything baby. Im starting to feel a bit depressed but Im not gonna show it. Im not gonna ruin their day.
After some dancing, mingling, and eating we all were seated again and Blessing went to the center with Taylor and a huge box.
"Ok everyone its time to find out the gender of the baby!" Mom smiles
"3, 2, 1" the crowd counts and then Blessing and Taylor open the box as Pink balloons fly out saying, "Its a girl"
We all clap as tears come down Blessings face and she hugs Taylor.
I get up and rush out the door and once outside I lean against the wall. I cant stop picturing my life less baby, or the disappointed faces.
"Hey Brice are you ok?!" Alex comes out rushing to my side.
"I-I cant stop thinking about it. Why cant that be me. Why cant it be me!" I snap my eyes to him.
"Just breathe ok. Just breathe" he hugs me.
"It will be you...one day." He whispers.

.
I laugh taking a bite of my cake which tastes amazing. Alex takes a napkin and wipes my face before kissing the side of my lip.
I smile and feel a tap on my shoulder.
"Hey can we talk" Blessing asks and I nod.
I look at Alex whose busy talking to dad and Taylor about football before walking outside with Blessing. She pulls her coat closer for warmth as the cool fall breeze blows.
"Im sorry" she sighs
"For what?"
"For calling you out at the dinner and being such a horrible sister. Seeing you the way you were yesterday and the three days before that made me think about how Ive been treating you, and this party is basically being thrown in your face after your loss" she explains
"Blessing its ok. Im glad you were the one to call me out. It helped me come to my senses but Alex is really helping me and my time will come soon" I exhale.
Pulling her into my arms I begin to feel content with myself. Maybe this is my new beginning.
