I know I say this a lot but this is a LONG chapter.

"It's fancy." Milo mentions gazing at the hotel from outside.
"Yes, that's rich people shit. You wouldn't understand because you're a peasant." I vividly explain to her and she nods taking in my life lesson.

Taking my hand as we cautiously walk in, I wasn't worried for my identity as this wasn't my world to be known for. The inside was just as extravagant, Milo immediately ran towards the vending machines though I quickly yanked her hood pulling her back to my side, "stay put." I demand. She does that puppy eye toddler sulk causing me to give in handing her some loose change from my pockets. She taps random buttons before aggressively kicking the bottom when her strawberry gummies wouldn't come out. What did I do? Well the exact same though in my case, the kicks smashed the glass...at least she got her strawberry gummies.

Ignoring the damage we caused in the corner, I walk over to the front desk where the man gave me distinct evils.
"Hello, room under Elara Asriel." I state using my middle name as I'd assume it to be safer though what did I know? I'll probably end up getting caught either way.
He hands me the key with no desire to converse, people are boring.

I had obtained a luxury suite closest to the area of the hotel in which Slavi occupied. A lot of it was closed off only exacerbating our suspicion that he must be here. My plan wasn't to kill him, not yet anyway. I wanted to hurt him, ruin him in the worst ways so much that death would just be another obstacle to him. From what I learnt, ruining someone meant destroying their honour, pride and everything they built. I would do all three, smile casted ear to ear when I see him fall.
At least then I'd know I redeemed myself as a daughter, he'd be proud of me.

As I open the door, Milo bursts into the room immediately taking comfort in the bed before destroying the pillows and prancing into the mattress. "Tallia." She calls me head hanging off the king sized bed.
"What is it peasant?" I ask turning to her.
"Can I stay here forever? I like being with you." She mutters for once not giving me death stares.
"You have parents love. They want their animal back." I enlighten her sweetly smiling.

"They don't want me back." She mutters her brown eyes sorrow.
Great now I have to give therapy to an ingrown.
I lift her off the bed, "What do you mean?" I question knowing nothing of Milo's parents. I had just assumed that they were busy working somewhere.
"They left me. They don't want me." She frowns her head finding comfort in my chest. I curled her closer, sympathising for her.
My fingers stroke her stray hairs away from her eyes as she squeezes herself closest to me.
"Hey, guess what?" I smile trying to light up the mood. She peers up to me waiting for my answer.

"I'll never leave you. I promise." I hold my pinky out for her to take.
She curls her entire hand around my single pinky refusing to let go of it and me.
"Even when it's dark?" She asks.
"Especially when it's dark." I smile pecking her forehead.
Tallia what the fuck? Why are you being nice to the thing?
I guess Milo reminded me of...well me. I wish I would have had someone so I'd make sure that she never had no one. She would have me, always. I had hoped that would be enough.

"You're my favourite." She enlightens me though I wasn't sure how to respond to affection from a child, especially since I'm used to verbally abusing them.
"Why is that?" I raise my eyebrow at her.
"Because everyone is happy now. Before they wasn't. Especially my uncle." She stutters and slurs.
"It's because I'm special and truly just a blessing to this Mafia." I convince her proudly.

Checking the time it had just gone 5pm, the day had passed us so quick though I've come to learn that the days in the Mafia don't finish until at least 11pm so time was in our favour. Though I'd like to get as far away from this place as possible, if I caught eyes with Slavi, I don't think I'd be able to restrain myself from doing the worst. I also couldn't put Milo at a huge risk, her being here was already bad but it was the only option I had.
"I need to do something kid. Can you stay here? Don't open the door for anyone, don't look out the window and don't make any noise." I warn her hoping to god she'd listen to me, for her own sake. Thankfully she nodded yet I wasn't sure how much reassurance that it gave me. I took her bunny out of my bag and handed it to her, "I'll be back soon, talk to your friend or whatever you peasants do." I shrug offering somewhat of a smile. She nods sitting in the corner whilst I leave, locking the door ensuring it can't be entered and seemed nothing like suspicious.
