**Brutal Warning
Chapter 20
It all began when Brandon went to his routine Procedure.
The Alchemists that came and took Brandon from his room that day....weren't Alchemists at all. But Jacob and Nora.
"Brandon come with us...." Nora called pulling Brandon from a book that he was reading.
Confused at seeing her and Jacob instead of the normal pair of nameless White Clad men that normally retrieved him, Brandon sat the book down, and quickly went to her side. Jacob greeted him....and then Brandon was being ushered out of the room and down the featureless White walls of his Fathers home.
Walking between them Brandon was both happy and anxious.
"What are you guys going here?" Brandon found himself asking them softly as they went further in.
With a tight lipped frown Nora seemed unable to respond....so Jacob spoke in her place.
"Hovel has requested that we be present during your Procedure and feeding today. He says that there is something that we need to see."
Brandon wanted to ask more question, but Jacob and Nora were acting weird...so Brandon quietly followed them. Down a few familiar halls...to one familiar room.
The Observation room....and the feeding room.
A giant glass door, that only reflected what was in front of it, instead of allowing you to see both ways, stared back at Brandon and Nora and Jacob as they stopped in front of it.
Then with a small hiss of sliding glass, the door moved to the side...inside there were two white robed Alchemists standing silently awaiting his arrival.
A giant clear glass rectangle cut into the left wall that also was only viewable one-way reflected the alchemists expressionless face, making it seem like there were more people in the room then it really was.
Everything was routine, until Brandon and Nora and Jacob walked into the Observation room, with its white walls, and silver table with hand cuffs attached to it sitting in the middle of the room. And there stood Hovel.
Hovels height, and slim build were an instant draw to the eyes....as was the bright blond hair, pale skin and sharp features that his father had.
IT was shocking to see the man in that moment....not because Hovel never came to the Procedures....but because Hovel looked....excited.
This was the only word that Brandon could think of to describe his expression. His dark blue eyes were shinning behind his horn-rimmed glasses, and his pink thin lips were softly smiling as Brandon appeared in the room.
And yet as excited as the man seemed....Hovel did not acknowledge Brandon directly, instead he walked up to Jacob and tilted his head saying. "All right. It took you long enough! So, let's begin this procedure quickly....and then you will see what I wanted to show you Jacob." Hovel commanded and explained.
Mostly ignoring Brandon's presence, Hovel only stopped to place a long cold arm on Brandon's shoulder and pushed him further into the room. Brandon was quite used to the treatment he received form his father....the nicest thing Hovel had ever done was calling him by his name....instead of simply referring to him as IT, THING or BOY.
So feeling nothing, Brandon quietly obeyed Hovels urging and slowly crossed the room and climbed up onto the steel table and waited on the chains to be put on and for the cutting to begin.
