*Jacob vs The Guardians? Who do you thinks gonna come out on top?

Chapter 36

Mantilo, Nate, Drin , Lander and Walter were sitting in the meeting room when Ezekiel arrived.

The room was large, part library, part meeting hall, it was the second largest room in the Leopards Mansion next to the Sparing Center on the other side of the home. The tall ceiling was perhaps the single oldest piece of the Mansion that had been built nearly two hundred years ago. A mosaic was painted across the roof, depicting thousands of skirmishes and slices of the Leopards Clans history.

Tragedies such as the Orange Plague that stole the lives of hundreds and nearly destroyed his Clan in its infancy.

Battles such as the Ancient war of the North. When Nathaniel; The once Great Clan Chief of long extinct Bear Clan attempted to invade the Leopard Lands and wipe out the competition for resources. And Climatic Events such as the earth quake that shattered the Leopards Clan Lands and created the basin in the Northern Forests that later became known as the Grand Lake. Beyond the stylized and historic art on the roof the walls were covered end to end with books.

A giant hard wood mahogany table large enough around to seat at least fifteen people dominated the center of the room.

Three large windows to the far left, high backed chairs with cream colored cushions and a large chandelier finished off the room.

The Chandelier glowed bright with electric light instead of candles. Seeing as the flame would have damaged the mosaic above, Ezekiel and his brothers had had the Chandelier installed as a means of preserving the murals on the ceiling.

The first thing Ezekiel noticed besides the fact that Jacob was standing and that all of his family members were sitting was the fact that Jacob and Mantilo were deep in conversation when he arrived.

When Ezekiel walked in every one of his family members except for his father nodded at him.

The Guardians sat back silently allowing the two men to converse with relative ease.. Mantilo was too busy with Jacob to speak to him, but that was fine with Ezekiel who quietly moved into the meeting room, stopped inside of the door way, and just listened.

The truth was Ezekiel and his siblings were not there to speak, but to listen and support their father.

He was the one that held all of the power. The only one whose authority Jacob had to respect....or pay with his life.

So as Ezekiel stood back from the table, slightly behind Jacob he clocked into on the tail end of something that Jacob was saying to his father."...when you do this....you go against the Laws!!"

Jacob was nearly shouting at Mantilo. The Lion was still dressed in the clothes he had worn the day of the attack. Rugged Jeans and a white tank top that left his arms bare. The dirt smearing his pants from the attack, made it apparent that even though Jacob was guest he was not welcome in any way and had probably not been permitted in any other part of the home except from the meeting room.

A part of Ezekiel realized that the Lion had gone the last three days without any food or water either. But as the thought summoned nothing but a vindictive joy in his heart, Ezekiel focused on the conversation and not on Jacob.

Mantilo nearly shouted right back at the Lion. His hair was out of its braid this morning. Long dark black hair hell free around his large shoulders and chest and he was dressed in casual jeans and a black shirt. His eyes flared with anger as he said "By law I am within my right to provide sanctuary!"
