WARNING- mentions of blood! I didn't really write a lot, but there is a tiny tiny tiny bit of gore so if you get triggered by that-- oh well

Imagine how a nine-year-old [y/n] would feel when she finds out there is no ally waiting for her outside the wall. Nothing but demons planning to pay and feast upon her siblings.
It's better knowing than-- well-- not, right?
[y/n] watched silently as her siblings all smiled toward each other with determined looks and courageous eyes. She turned away, knowing all that courage is about to go right down the drain.

"Discarded."
[y/n] stared at the radio, before sighing and spinning around lazily in the rolling chair.
She'd been in the secret room for a while now. She thought it would be good to have a whole sweep of the room-- no secrets. Stupid, really. They only got rid of the W.M. books from two other plants. He had used different names in every single one.
'i'll give him credit. he's smart.' She stared at the screen again.
'at least, he was.'
She spun in the chair once more. It's not like she had much to worry about.
Mama suddenly fell ill.
"when it comes to it..." She muttered, "you were too weak. it's kill or be killed." She smiled softly.
"You got killed."

--Nothing. She would feel nothing. Cold, heartless [y/n]. Unloving, inhuman [y/n].
Unfeeling [y/n].
"Hey, Emma..." [y/n] muttered, tugging on her sweater to get her attention. Emma turned to her, as the others began talking to each other.
"Yeah?" She smiled. No one can resist that smile.
"Let's just.." [y/n] yanked her away, pulling her deep into a random part of a random area. Not far, but enough to where nothing of what they said could be heard.
"What happened? Is everything alright..?" Emma tilted her head, as [y/n] sighed through her nose.
"What you do if I..." [y/n] looked down, "did something... wrong. Really, really wrong."
Silence.
"What would you do if I told you not to get your hopes up?"
Emma opened her mouth but closed in again. Her eyebrows furrowed as her mind went blank.
"What would you do if I wasn't the person you thought I was?"
"[y/n]!" Emma yelled in a hushed tone, grabbing [y/n]'s forearms, "Are you okay? I can't really understand what you're saying... Is there anything I can do for you?"
Silence.
"Emma, I'm..." [y/n] looked up. Emma's light green eyes stared back, concerned-- yet curious hues watched innocently.
She couldn't. Not to Emma. Not now.
"Emma, I'm... a very bad cook. That time I did cook well, it was a fluke!" [y/n] smiled softly.
