"And who are you?" The tall demon with the sword cut in. She turned to him, before softly putting her pointer finger on her lips.
"Hush." She muttered softly, a small smile on her face. The demon held its sword tightly in frustration as she turned back to Ray and smiled.
"I need you to cover your ears and close your eyes. Hum that beautiful melody..." She stood up, gently laying him down as he covered his ears and closed his eyes. She wrapped her sweater and scarf around his eyes and ears, successfully muffling out anything she was to say.
Following her instructions, he began humming softly. Humming that beautiful melody his mother would hum. Finally, she turned to the demons.
"Hi." She smiled, kneeling to the floor and shoving her hands in her backpack, looking for something. The demons exchanged looks between themselves, all aware of the same thing.
'it's deadly—aim to kill.'
"[ur neck number]-- The premium quality. The one famous for death, right?" The tall one hummed as he finally took out its blade. "Let's see if the rumors are true."
She pulled out a guitar string from her bag, wrapping both ends around her fists tightly. She stood up slowly as her eyes went wide, "Let's make this quick, 'kay?"
The demon laughed, "A guitar string? You fool."
Sonju watched from afar, waiting for something to happen. As [y/n] slowly walked forward towards the tall demon, she side-glanced at him, directly eye to eye. As if she'd known he was there the whole time. Sonju nervously stepped back behind a tree, concealing himself once more.
The demon's strategy was simple; have the dog-looking ones all run towards her at once, then—when she becomes overwhelmed— have a sword pierce her through. I mean, this was supposed to be an easy fight; what kind of weapon is a guitar string? She could have used any other item from the house, like a scalpel from the medic cabinet, or maybe the small sewing needles in Isabella's room— but a guitar string?
It isn't even a weapon. Way to feed into the enemy's confidence.
"It doesn't have to be this way. If you just come with us, this doesn't have to happen." The demon lied smoothly, approaching her just as slowly as she was approaching them.
"Coolio. Tell that to your dogs running towards me right now." [y/n] yawned tiredly. The demon's eyes went wide in shock.
'how did she-'
She suddenly turned to the dogs and began running towards them at a high speed. With the momentum she had, she jumped from the side of a tree to land on the dog's back.
"Okay, you got two options," [y/n] climbed up the demon's neck, now standing on its head, "You either leave us alone for good and live, or ya' die."
"Shut up, brat!" The dog-demon spat as it continued running at a faster pace, hoping that she'd eventually lose grip and fall off of it. [y/n] chuckled, gripping her hands to fists.
She leaned down as she raised her fist high. Then, in a mere split second, slammed it down into the demon's eye. Just like a hammer smashing into an egg, her fist sunk deep in, as the gunk slathered across the demon's face. She smiled widely, then raised her fist and slammed it back in again.
The demon dog screeched in pain as the crimson red oozed out its deep eye socket.
The blood welled up warmly in between her knuckles, staining her skin. The red sprayed on her cheek, and as the blood dripped down her cheek to her chin to her shirt, it painted her simple button-up cherry. The eye made a damp squelch as her fist slowly retracted from it.
