A U G U S T POV
Everyday since I got the call about Maria being in the hospital, I'd go to the hospital and visit her. There hasn't been any type of improvement. "She's still not responding. We'll call you if we do." That's all I ever hear the doctor tell me when I visit. I cancelled every interview and show that was scheduled for me, just in case I get that call.
The doctors said, during the car accident Maria didn't seem to have her seat belt on, and hit her head on the steering wheel, before the airbag bursted out and hit her in the head, causing her head to slam onto the head rest in the car. I'm guess that's what made her slip into a coma, but whatever it is she needs to fight it.
Ant is at his grandma house as usual, and I'm on my way to the hospital. It's became a daily routine, unless Ant wants to visit then I'll bring him up here with me. Every time I visit her dad is never in the room with me. He'd either just left, hasn't came yet, or saw me and got up and left.
My baby girl...., I ain't even seen her yet. I mean I can, but I chose not to just because I'm not ready to see my baby hooked up to a ventilator, and I'm not ready to not see my baby boy laying next to his sister. I played with my keys, as I entered the hospital and went to the elevator. I hate hospitals, it's rarely ever a good reason to be here. It's full of dead spirits and shit.

I made it to Maria room and knocked on the door, like if she could respond to it. To my surprise I heard a voice say come in. My heart pounded fast, as the thought of Maria waking up surprised me. But, it was just Lauren sitting next to her bed with big red puffy eyes.
"Shouldn't you be in school ?" I asked, maybe I shouldn't have asked that this is the wrong time and place.
"Yea." She sniffed packing her stuff. "I'm heading back now, just came during lunch to see how my best friend was doing." She grabbed her keys, and left out, shutting the door behind her. Maria laid in her hospital bed, with tubes and chords hooked all on her.
"Uh, I'm back M. It's August." I fake laughed, to keep from crying. "Um. H-How - no I can't ask that that's stupid. But, I've been meaning to tell you that uh - um Baby Aiden..... Yea he died the day you got in the car accident." I sniffed scratching the edge of my nose with my thumb.
"M, please wake up. I can't go another day knowing your in this place. Also, knowing that there is a possibility that you won't wake up. I miss holding you in my arms at night. M, please if you can hear me please wake up. I love you, M."
Still no response.
The room fell back to the sad hospital silence, as I stared at M for a minute. Scooting to the edge of my chair, beside M bed, I slide my thumb across M cheek. My thumb came into contact with a wet surface on M cheek, indicating she had shed a tear.
"DOC ! DOC !" I shouted into the hospital. Dr. Brown soon rushed into the room with a panic expression.
"What is it ?"
"She's crying !"
The doctor's face soon became relaxed, as he moved toward M. "Coma patients can cry, but they are not aware they are doing it. It is the subconscious mind. When people are in a coma, they are not aware of their surroundings. It is like a deep sleep."
"But, is that an improvement ? Of any sort ?"
"I'm sorry, but it's not." He sighed, before walking toward the doorway. "But, are you ready to see your daughter, August ?"
