A U G U S T POV
It was three in the morning when I got the call that could cure this hole in my heart. The call that would make a nigga smile for a good week. I was laying with Ant in my arms, and the sudden sound of a phone vibrating against wood had awoken me from my sleep. I used my free arm to reach for the phone, as I pressed the green button to answer, without checking the caller ID.
"Hello ?" I answered in my sleepy voice.
"August we need you at the hospital now ! Maria moved her arm just a little indicating she could be awaking. We need somebody down here to try to talk to her or something. She's not waking up from none of our voices." Brandon said.
"Who's there ?" I asked snatching my arm from under Ant, and using it to hold myself up on the bed.
"Me and my dad."
"I'm on my way." Without waking Ant up I slide on his socks and shoes, then put on his coat and carried him out to the car. I pulled out my phone calling Chris to tell him to come to the hospital and to call Kae and Aggy also.
I locked the door, and got in the car speeding off. I called my mother and told her to come and make sure she bring my nieces. Right about now Maria could wake up to anybody's voice not just mine. I'm pretty sure if our baby could cry, she would wake up to the sound of her child's cry. Any mother would.
My heart was beating fast knowing that this could be the day that I could see Maria's eyes again, and be able to hear her voice again. I was doing 80mph on a 55mph. If I get pulled over I ain't stopping. That's how excited I am.
I swerved into the hospital parking lot, parking and unbuckling Ant to carry him in. In no time I was sitting in Maria's hospital room again. I kneeled onto one knee and held on to Maria hand ready to pour my heart out not caring who was in the room. If her father don't like it, he can get the stepping. Cause he gone have to face the fact that I'm in love with his daughter and that I will be around for a whole 18 years cause we got a child together. No fucks given at this very moment. If Maria doesn't wake up I don't know what I'm going to do with my life that call could change my life.
"Maria, I swear if you wake up I'll do anything for you. I'm tired of waking up and knowing you're not there, you're in the hospital bed. I'm tired of not hearing your voice, and not seeing your eyes make direct contact with my mine. I just want you, me, our baby, and Ant to live a life together, to grow together, to be together I don't give a fuck if you're 17 I love you wake up please. None of this can happen if you don't stay, please Marie, please don't leave me."
I held onto her hand and examined her body hoping for just a sudden movement. All I got was nothing, she still laid there, she didn't even blink, nothing She didn't even move her eyes under her eyelids. Nothing, not a single movement besides the Ventilator helping her with her breathing making her chest go up and down. My voice didn't reach her.
The failure of my voice made me feel weak,made me feel like I didn't mean nothing to Maria. Made me feel like I couldn't help her, made me feel like I wasn't the one, made me feel useless, actually thought my voice would awaken her. If my voice could awaken her she would've been had woke up from the first time I visited her, maybe I don't mean that much to Maria like she means to me or maybe I'm overthinking it.
Millions of thoughts filled my brain until Ant woke up. He asked why we're at the hospital. I told him to go talk to Maria to see if his voice has an effect on her. But, still all we got was nothing. After, awhile my mother and my niece had arrived and everybody had a chance to talk to Maria. Tyga, Tray, Jared, Lauren, Chyna, Trey, etc. Chris arrived with Karrueche and Aggy. Aggy went to talk first due to the fact that Maria didn't know Karrueche.
"Maria it seems like it's been years since I saw you, but really it's only been one. It's your sister, Honest. I miss you, please wake up, I swear to you that I will visit you every day if you wake up and we will never be apart from each other again. You're only, 17 you don't deserve to die young. You'll be 18 in a few months, don't you want to live to see your graduation ? Please just wake up. I love you Maria."
Karrueche had said a few things, but then it was Chris's turn. He asked everybody to leave the room, he wanted this to just be one on one. We did as he told, but he had broke into tears before anyone could leave the room, he's been finding them tears since the day she was announced to be in a coma. Chris was a fighter not a crier it was shocking if you ever saw him cry.
"Maria we came along way since August is not very long but I've grown to you, we'll attach to you. Your like my little sister besides the fact that I used to like you. Like, you mean the world to me and for you to leave my life that......t-that we would h-honestly kill me inside it will destroy me, my heart would fall and everything inside me would be destroyed. Maria hear me out....... I will get on one knee and beg you. Please Marie...........................stay." Chris said, breaking down.
Chris came into the hallway with big red, puffy eyes and told us we can come back in. It took him a minute before he came back into the hospital room. And by surprise Ant went up to Maria and whispered in her ear again, but this time I heard him.
"Robert said your alive all you have to do is open your eyes and say something." Ant went back to me, and before I knew it Maria eyes shot open.
"Doc !!" Mr. Gomez said, shouting out into the hallway. The doctor soon came in and saw that Maria was awake, but hasn't spoken.
"Can you speak ? Can you hear me ?" The asked Maria.
"Yes." She said.
My heart immediately melted after hearing Maria voice. Something I haven't heard in two weeks. She was finally awake.
"Oh my gosh, Maria your awake. I almost died in the inside." I said rushing over to her hospital bed.
"Give her space. She just woke up." The doctor said, moving me back. "Do you know where you are?"
"No." Maria answered.
"Your in Windmill Hospital. Do you know why your here ?"
"No."
"You were in a serious car accident on January 15, 2015. You slipped into a coma for 2 weeks and today is January 29, 2015, and its currently four o'clock in the morning." The doctor said, trying to familiarize Maria.
"Maria, how you feeling ?" I asked.
"I'm..... I'm okay." She asked looking around the hospital room and everyone in it. Her eyes stopped when she saw her dad. "Daddy why all these people in here ?"
"There here for you."
"But, they don't know me. I don't know them either. I only saw them on TV. I must be dreaming." Maria said with a confused look.
"Maria you don't know who I am ?" I asked.
"Yes, your August Alsina."
"Besides that."
"No."
