Midiorya stares at the box in fear and curiosity. The package arrived at exactly the time it said it would and his mother picked up the box and set it on the table. When he came home he saw the box with his name on the label and blushed. In a panic he picked up the box rushing upstairs to his room setting it on his desk.
His mother with a surprised face walked upstairs, knocking on the door to ask her son what was wrong.
"Nothing mom, just uh excited to see the new mercy I got."
The lie comes off his tongue shaky, not at all believable. With a frown Ms.Midoriya scolds him.
"Don't lie to your mother, what's in the box?"
He feels nervous sweat trickle down the side of his face. He panics and blurts out, "ummm, porn!"
With a splitter and furious blush she looks horrified.
"Izuku!" Her son is at that age to be thinking about these things but Inko knows her son and something about this doesn't seem right.
With a sigh and the love only a mother who knows her child could give, reassures him.
"As long as it's not dangerous it's fine. I won't pry, but when you're ready please let me know. I hope you're okay."
With a soft smile she walks away, heart fluttering in happiness when her little Izu mutters out a "thank you mom." She has a feeling something complicated is going on but it'll be alright in the end. Knowing her instincts as a mother are never wrong she walks away.
Inside his room, Midiorya feels better in a sense. He's happy his mother is so understanding, she never pushes and let's him come to her when he's ready.
A small gracing his lips he goes to the bathroom, showering and putting on his pajamas. It's early he knows his mom will wonder why he's dressed for bed when he usually would be watching tv, writing hero analysis in his journal. But right now he's got something else important to do.
'Okay, this isn't hard, I've fought big time villains like Overhaul, Stain, Shigaraki, the League, All for One even. It's just a box. A box that holds little kid items that my mom might see. Or one of my friends could see if I decide to actually do this. I might stop up and leave it out where they could find it, or bring it with me and they pick it up. What if I have to act like it's not mine and throw it away and I've already become attached to? Would they make fun of me if they see it? I'm a future hero I'm not supposed to have these things. Maybe I should throw them away? I haven't opened the box yet no one will what was inside. But mom will ask what happened with the box eventually, what will I say then? No don't waste it, maybe I should donate them? Play it off that way?
Mom already has a son that used to be quirkless she gave up so much for me, I don't want to add being a grown man playing with toys to the list. But what if-'His phone vibrating against the wooden desk cuts him from his ramblings. With an anxious sigh, Midoriya picked up his phone seeing it was a text from Uraraka. ' maybe she can help?'
Before losing his nerve Midoriya calls Uraraka.
"Hey Deku, what's up?"
"Hey Ura-Chan can you come over?"
"Sure! Why what's wrong ? Did something happen?"
"No, well it's just..it's about last week when I went back up stairs and didn't come back down to dinner."
"I'm on my way."
