Chapter 25 : Starved For Help

Part 1/1:

It was quiet for a moment.

"What?!" Rebekah shrieked, horror on her face. I shuddered.

That man ... who looked like Stefan ...

"Silas."

The woman said again.

"He's alive." she whispered, her breathe becoming heavy.

"No. No that's impossible." Rebekah said.

"Is this some kind of a joke?" Klaus growled at the woman. "Silas isn't real." he snapped at her. The woman narrowed her eyes.

"If he isn't real then why is his prescience affecting your daughter?" I flinched at the word, "daughter".

Everyone went quiet.

"Anyone... mind..." I panted, barely getting the words out of my mouth.

"Telling me what the hell is the matter with me?"

***

An hour and a half later, the woman - who's name I'd learned to be Mayeeve, a witch Klaus had called in from India- did something to at least momentarily slow down the thirst and sickness.

Long enough for me to shower the regurgitated blood off of my hands, face, chest and hair. Rebekah, Klaus, Hayley, Mayeeve, and Elijah were all downstairs, speaking quietly.

"Who is Silas?"

Hayley demanded.

"Kol spoke of him. Supposedly the first vampire."

Rebekah answered, a hint of ... fear ...? In her voice.

"That's ridiculous I'm the first vampire." Klaus snapped.

"Its just a story though right?"

Hayley asked quickly.

"I mean, our daughter can't seriously be possess by the dead first vampire? Can she?"

"Not possessed."

Mayeeve interrupted.

"By being here, he sets off the balance. Which messed with Hope's body. Her immune system, her digestive system."

"Will she be okay?"

Klaus asked frantically.

"I don't know. It's never happened before. You need to figure out if she's seen him. If she has... well, we'll go from there."

A small ripple of panic shot through me.

I could die?

I've lived my whole life knowing what I was, never fearing death.
