He didn't speak to me for the rest of the week.

It's Friday after school. The song is done and I'm so excited.

We carpooled to the carnival and got in free.

I'm the third person to sing, so we hang near the stage. I'm freaking out and my nerves are going nuts. Mom and Ava know what I'm about to do, but I didn't tell Dad because he would freak out and I didn't tell Ethan because he would slip and tell Bri who would tell Braxton.

The second person is up. The carnival is already full of people.

The people that are performing aren't that good. The sun is setting and it should be night soon. It's already six thirty.

Mr. Dalton in in the crowd and he doesn't look impressed. We get to pick the song we're singing. Mr. Dalton says that the best singer wins a trip to New York City for four for free.

Everything is paid for.

People aren't even stopping to see these two.

The music will be played through the stereo, but it's not like someone else wrote the song. It was me and me alone.

The second singer finishes and Mr. Dalton looks around, and then his eyes rest on me. He waves me over.

"Kill 'em honey!" Mom says.

I walk over to Mr. Dalton.

I have one a white strapless crop top and high waisted shorts and converse.

"Good luck. Try and win the crowd." He says.

I nod and walk up to the stage.

I can't help but notice Braxton glaring at multiple guys that stop walking to look at me.

The music starts after I adjust the microphone.

Tell me how

Tell me how we both got here

We can't stop now

Love is in the atmosphere

Braxton's eyes are wide and he looks at Bri. She's grinning from ear to ear.

And I don't want to lose you

It feels like I've waited forever

Don't know what I'm doing

But it's all right

Yeah it's all right

Mr. Dalton grins when the crowd of people gets bigger.

So please don't leave me here tonight

Lonely on the dance floor

'Cause I've been waiting my whole life

For a moment like you

So please don't leave me here tonight

Lonely on the dance floor

'Cause I've been waiting my whole life

For a moment like you

Take you off
