you and the boy walked in silence. you had so many questions to ask, and the curiosity was killing you. "hey, what's your name?" you finally asked him.

"is this really a good time to be asking that?" he replied, giving you a side glance.

"as good a time as any."

he huffed. "fine. my name is haechan."

"haechan." you mulled the name over in your head. it fit him, strangely.

"don't forget, princess, you still haven't told me your name yet." he gave you a sly smile, clearly enjoying the way you bristled at the nickname.

you hesitated. jaemin's instructions echoed in your head. 'you'll have to have a fake name... how about jieun?' he had said. 'it means 'hidden'. fitting, isn't it?'

"jieun," you finally responded.

"jieun," haechan repeated, and you could see him thinking it over as well. he smiled at you. you were relieved to see that he didn't see the meaning behind the name.

"it's a pretty name," he continued. "but i prefer princess."

you rolled your eyes. "i don't. i'll strangle you if you call me that again."

raising an eyebrow, he said sarcastically, "will you, now?"

"sure i will. didn't you see me scare the shit out of that bandit earlier?"

he snorted. "yeah, but if i remember correctly, he completely tricked you, shoved you to the ground, and ran off with all of your money."

"let's not get into the specifics." you looked away, color tinting your cheeks.

he clapped a hand onto your shoulder, and you flinched. "it's okay," he said. "don't worry about it. we'll take care of you."

"we?" you asked as you tried to pry his hand off your shoulder.

he slowed to a stop and flashed you a smile. "you'll see."
