you had washed up and dressed in the far-too-large clothes that haechan had gotten for you. you returned to the room, finding it empty, and sat on your bed. moments later, the door opened, and haechan poked his head in.
"hey. you can go to sleep if you want. we've got a long day ahead of us tomorrow."
"wha- what do you mean? what are we doing tomorrow?"
"training, of course," haechan replied matter-of-factly.
"training? why?"
"we're not sending you into that place unprepared. oh, and johnny hyung's gonna be training you tomorrow, and i'm just warning you right now, he's a bit of a..."
"a what?"
he smirked. "well, we'll see tomorrow, won't we? bright and early, princess."
"hey-"
he gave you a mock salute, winking, and shut the door. you rolled your eyes, heaving a sigh and collapsing onto your bed. the day's events had left you exhausted, and not even haechan's ominous warning about tomorrow's training could stop you from quickly drifting off to sleep.
some time in the middle of the night, you were awoken by the sound of the door creaking open. you were still not yet fully awake when you heard a voice begin to talk in hushed whispers. you couldn't make out the first few words, but you drew yourself to attention and strained your ears to hear what they were saying.
"what do you mean he's not back yet?" you heard someone in the room whisper. you couldn't figure out who it was.
"yuta came back just now, but he doesn't know where he is. apparently, they split up and planned to meet back here, but..."
"what should we do now then? you don't think—"
"no, there's no reason to panic about it now. let's just go to sleep and hope he's back in the morning."
the whispering stopped and you drifted back into sleep, not yet being able to process what you had just heard.
