Pumpkin Latte

Carly's POV
Miss Hazel told us that all subjects are cancelled so we can focus on the theme

Other groups planned to use a different classroom, we all talked to each other and we finalized the decision that my group will use the art room

Me and Stacy waved goodbye to each other because Stacy's group will use the Literature room

When all of them left there is a very awkward and tension-filled atmosphere in the room, all of us looked at each other

So my group consisted of me, Leo, Brittney and 2 Jocks named Merlin and Hunter

There was a knock at the door and Miss Hazel came in with a student

She is dark-skinned with box braids that are in a ponytail, when she got closer you can see she is very petite

She has an eye-catching blue eyes with a grey fleck in them, and she looks shy

"meet your new group member her name is Natasha Callan"

The girl named Natasha waved at us shyly while hiding behind Miss Hazel

"your group consisted of only 5 members and I asked Natasha if she could join your group since Natasha's group is already complete" Miss Hazel patted Natasha at the back and left the room

"So what should we do first?" she asked me as she sat down at the nearest chair she could find

"Research is always the first option when it comes to finding what stuff can be connected to Fall" Merlin replied and he showed us his phone it appeared that there are a lot of pictures when he searched Autumn

"Pumpkin Latte" all of us looked at Brittney as she showed us a pic of a Starbucks Pumpkin Latte

"sure thanks for the added info" Hunter said then he touched my hair curiously because my hair is showing

"Is this real or is it dyed?" he asked me in a joking manner

Leo suddenly grabbed his hand and removed it from my hair
"We have to focus on the project" Leo glared at him

Hunter rolled his eyes at Leo "fine"

Then Hunter winked at me but I just ignored him and we continued on the project discussion

"Miss Hazel told me that we will be in charge of the fountain and the campus grounds to make it Fall-themed" Natasha gave Merlin the school map that is marked to which part we have to decorate

"wait a minute then what are the other classes are doing" Brittney asked as she raised a brow at Natasha

"I heard that other classes will be in charge of the events, some in the games and others at food" Leo commented and Brittney smirked at him then glanced at me for a reaction

Luckily I was beside Merlin and both of us are looking at the school map so she wouldn't get to see much of my reaction

"alright" Merlin said with enthusiasm as he folded the map and he pushed me to the hallway, everybody followed him all the way to the campus

"it seems like we underestimated the size of the campus" Hunter said in a defeated tone as he looks on our very large campus

"This is ridiculous, I refused to do something like this my nails would crack" Brittney commented as she crossed her arms and looked at Merlin waiting for his reply

"we'll be fine, we can finish this on time for the foundation day and for prom" Merlin gave Brittney the look

Brittney just looked away, I walked down the stairs and sat on the fountain and I looked at my surroundings

I suddenly got an idea at the corner of my eye, I saw Hunter with a sketchbook peeking through his backpack

"Hey, Hunter can I borrow your sketchbook?" I walked closer to Hunter

Hunter just looked at me "why?"

"Just give me the sketchbook and I need to borrow a pencil too" Hunter reached for his backpack and gave me his sketchbook

"I didn't know you can draw?" Leo eyed Hunter

"it's a side hobby" Hunter shrugged at him

I finally sat at the fountain in an indian position but my hair keeps falling at my face

After several attempts of me removing my hair from my face, I sighed and looked around

There is not many people and I struggled with my hair so I put down my hoodie, I felt someone touch my hair and it was Leo

"do you have a hair tie?" he asked and I gave him one, he made my hair into a messy bun

"thank you" I smiled at him

"I always do this to Kathrina" he replied as he is looking to where was I was looking

I just hoped there is not many people at campus right now so I focused on drawing on what might be if I designed the campus to look like a Fall Theme

Leo's POV
I saw Carly struggle with her hair so I walked to her and helped her

I made her hair into a bun while she is drawing, when I finally finished she thanked me and she smiled

The awkwardness is gone from there I guess, while she is focusing on her drawing I saw a few people looking at us but mostly from our group

They walked to us, Natasha and Merlin are sitting at both sides of Carly and helping her with ideas for the design

Brittney walked up to me with both hands at her waist "hmph how come you never fixed my hair" she looked angry

I didn't answer her and just looked around to find a seat other than the fountain, there is a bench near the left side of the fountain and I sat there

Hunter sat beside me
"that was new"

"new what?" I was not looking at him but Carly

"Someone like you dates a lot of girls but will never do anything like fix their hair or even go to a fair"

I was surprised "how do you know about the fair?"

Hunter showed me a pic that is posted by Kevin on social media, we were all gathered around the fire at the beach

I swear I'm gonna have a talk with Kevin after school

"if you are not gonna take her I am"
Hunter added as he looked at Carly who is laughing

I grabbed Hunter by the collar and glared at him

He gave out a small laugh and glared at me while I'm still holding his collar
"you are just gonna use her like every girl in this school"

"she is different" I replied glaring back at Hunter as I pulled his collar tighter

"you don't even like her why bother?" he replied

"and besides me and Carly go way back" he sneered while glaring at me as he held my wrist

I saw a small lotus that is encircled at Hunter's wrist that looks like a scar
