Having secrets was nothing new for Nick Fury, still the secret prisoner never left his head. She was young and small, but she wasn't scary at all. When he heard Maria Hill had found the famous Agent X, he expected something big just like the stories described. June Caroline Bellini was a quiet, shy girl who believed she wasn't special. Yes she had 'abilities', but without them she was nothing.
JUNE'S POV
I have been hidden for 3 whole days before the big SHIELD boss enters my cell "So Bellini, show me what you can do." he sits down in a small chair. I stand up, check the space I have and slowly walk to him. "Can I?", I take his hand without waiting for his response <focus June, you got this> slowly an emerald green bubble rises from my free hand and lights up the room. As soon as I open my eyes a memory starts playing. I don't recognize it so assume it belongs to Fury, out of respect I look away. When it finishes he stands up, thanks me and leaves the room, he tried to escape my eyes the whole time and I have no idea why. I must say that I am slightly disappointed, there is so much more I have to offer but I scared him away, like I always do.
NATASHA'S POV
"Well I heard Fury is hiding a new prisoner!" "You heard or you saw?", I ask the billionaire amused. "He knows I have cameras everywhere", Tony replies with a smile "Do you wanna see her?". He's testing me, again. "Not really Fury will probably send me in a few days. Have fun stalking the prisoner Stark"
It only takes a day for Fury to call me in, bossy like always, but something's off. "Watch out Romanoff, she's dangerous". The cell he told me to go to isn't hiding a deadly assassin, but a young girl with long dark hair and dead eyes. <watch out it could be a disguise> "So here is the deal", I speak loudly to impress her "you give me information, I give you a shower". Her sad brown eyes meet mine "You don't have to act tough, but thank you". Her face is boney and grayish, she looks like death. "What do you need to know?", her voice is friendly and soft. I wasn't expecting this to be so easy. "What are you hiding? Why are you not fighting?", the laugh she lets out holds fear and pain "I don't want to go back". My heart breaks at those 6 small words, she IS afraid, but not of me. "Your whole name, organization and age", the last one isn't Fury's question, but she doesn't need to know that. "June Caroline Bellini, I was sold from organization to organization so I lost track after Hydra, 18 years old", I don't know why but I feel sorry for her. "Powers?", just a whisper but she heard me "I can move through different types of material and have access to the dreams and memories of others. Don't worry tho I only use them when I am asked to". "Okay, I know enough. You earned your shower time but I'm supervising you so don't try anything." I try to give her a hard look, but she forces out a smile and whispers "I can't go back, not again". The questions are burning on my lips, but our deal is made and she probably doesn't want to speak about it.
She shivers the whole way to the basement shower, it isn't cold, is she afraid? Or maybe just uncomfortable. We walk into the small shower, she turns her back to me and starts taking off her clothes. She is covered in bruises and scars, some of them look self inflicted others look like battle wounds. When she brushes her hair back I see it, a little mark to remind her where she came from. A little symbol that comes back in every nightmare I have, a small hourglass that symbolizes hell. "Don't worry, I don't want to kill you", she knows what I'm looking at.
I don't look as she dries herself and puts her clothes back on, when she's ready she taps my shoulder and gives me her wrists. <how does she know?> I slide the handcuffs around them "Precaution, I'm sorry", she smiles and nods. While we walk back to her cell she speaks softly "I'm sorry if I killed one of your agents, in fact I am sorry for everyone I killed. No one really deserved it. I just didn't know what to do". She sounds so vulnerable and small, like a child. <how long was she in there> "I grew up in there, there're no memories before the Red Room. 2 years ago they sold me to Hydra, were I stayed for a year." she turns to me and gives me a soft smile. <did I say that out loud?> "Oh shoot I heard it so clear, I thought you were asking me. Sorry for invading your privacy" she lets her head hang and her hair falls down so I can't see her. "How do you do it?", I try not to sound angry so I don't upset her <why do I care about her?>. "I don't know I just hear it, sometimes I have to concentrate. This time it just came, I'm so so sorry", her words are framed with a type of sadness I can't place. "Hey, hey don't worry. I was just wondering, but try not to do it again.", I've gone soft, over this 18 year old girl that reminds me so much of who I used to be.
We stop at her door "I'll see you later June", her eyes light up. "Thank you agent Romanoff"
