The gang rested now that they were away from the treacherous Florida sun. However they couldn't rest for long as Bain had yet another job for them, One he nicknamed operation undercover. Operation undercover was Bain's way of killing two cops with one bullet. On one hand, by doing the job in DC they were establishing themselves outside of just New York. On the other hand, Bain was hoping this job would impress a cartel leader in the DC area by the name of Hector Morales, someone who was crucial to the plan Bain had begun forming ever since Pensacola, A plan that not even Dallas knew. But for now, they had this. Bain explained to the clowns what the job was. According to his scouts and research, a corrupt IRS agent was going by the codename "Taxman" who held an IRS server with 25 million dollars on it in his possession. In a few days, Taxman would be doing a deal with the Cobra's, a local gang in the DC area. He would hand over the server in return for protection. The gang was going to ambush the job by setting up in an apartment building across the street from the deal and having their escape driver Alex in a crane on a nearby building. Alex would pick up Taxman's car with said crane so the gang could safely abduct him and the server. Once he explained the plan the crew was in bewilderment.
"Just how the hell do you expect this to work?" Chains saying what everyone was thinking.
"Trust me"
The gang didn't exactly have a say in the matter so they started to make preparations for the job. A few days later the gang was set up in the location and Alex had commandeered the crane. The crew had the usual loadout with Hoxton having a sniper set up on the windowsill. After a bit, the Taxman and Cobra's arrived for the deal. Taxman arrived in a white limousine to add some flair. As the deal was about to go down Hox noticed something.
"Ah fuck me," He said angered.
"What?" Dallas asked, confused.
"Look through the scope"
Dallas took Hox's position and took aim through the scope and saw the same thing. A group of swat officers taking up flanking positions. Dallas activated his comms.
"Bain we got a problem, the cops are about to bust the meet" Dallas conveyed worried.
"Eh we've faced harder"
"He's spooked!" Hoxton yelled.
Luckily for them, the Taxman had decided to hop into the limo for cover. One of the officers tried to grab him but was put down by Hoxton's deadeye aim. Alex started his job and lowered the massive magnet on top of the car and pulled it up. He hoisted it onto the roof where the gang was ready to intercept it. Alex placed the car down and as the gang went outside to grab Taxman the roof of the building caved in and the car fell through it. The gang fell down from the crash then regained their balance.
"Well, the cars gotta be somewhere. Go find it" Bain instructed.
The crew got up and descended down the old building right as the cops figured out what was happening and began their raid on the building. They found that the car had lodged itself pretty far down in the stairwell. They kept making their way down shooting at the swat officers that now infected the building. Once they got to the 4th floor where the back of the limo was, Wolf threw down the duffle bag that was slung around his shoulder. With suppressive fire from the rest of the gang he pulled out the OVESAW9000, A specialty saw he created to aid the gang in sawing through steel and other hard materials. He affixed it to the roof of the car and let it do its work. More and more cops began flooding the building and the gang was starting to get pinned. Hox's choice of a marksman rifle wasn't exactly the best pick for a stairwell. A large group of cops were approaching from the 4th-floor hallway with two shields in front protecting them. The gang thought this was going to be their end until Dallas reached into his suit pocket and pulled out a frag grenade. He threw it down the hallway past the phalanx. Its detonation shook the whole building and demolished the police who stood on top of it.
"IT'S DONE" Wolf shouted over the gunfire.
He removed the saw and placed it back in the bag then kicked in the roof revealing the Taxman hiding. Dallas reached into the car and grabbed him by his shirt before throwing him out and using him as a human shield. Hoxton made sure to grab the server that was in the back seat before the gang returned back to their original vantage point. There the gang had a makeshift computer setup so they could help Bain extract the funds from the server. Dallas threw the Taxman in a chair and tied him down with some duct tape. They let Wolf handle the interrogation as he was the most experienced when it came to that sort of thing.
"Codes," Wolf asked him.
"You're not going to make it out of here alive" He snarked.
"I am going to ask you one more time. Codes now" Wolf said starting to get angry which was a really really bad thing for the Taxman.
"Go die in a ditch" He laughed.
Wolf simply sighed as a response as he went to his equipment bag.
"Could you hurry the fuck up? I rather not get shot" Chains yelled.
"I'm working on it," Wolf said, annoyed.
He pulled out a power drill from his bag and returned to his friend. He pressed the drill against his leg.
"WAIT WAIT WAIT" The Taxman yelled.
Despite the threat of harm being enough to make him talk Wolf needed to let off some steam so he drilled into his leg and the Taxman let out a bloodcurdling scream of anguish.
"CODES" Wolf demanded.
Once the Taxman stopped screaming he spit out "M-E-R-C-Y-K-I-L-L"
Wolf entered the code into the computer.
"Ok funds are transferring now. Hold out just a bit longer"
Wolf picked up his trusty shotgun he named Donald and went to assist the gang in the firefight. The crew sat there mowing down swarms and swarms of cops. Wolf being the insane man he is, began to push up further into the hallway. He rounded the corner but was instantly flung back by a shotgun blast. The gang watched as a hulking green figure came around the corner and started firing at them. They had to forget about Wolf for the time being and find some cover.
"Its face. Its face. Shoot it. That's its weak point" Bain relayed to the gang.
Dallas, Chains, and Hoxton all looked at each other in silence wondering who was brave enough to fight that thing.
"Oh for fucks sake," Hoxton said as he grabbed his rifle and leaned around the corner.
He fired a shot and its metal faceplate shattered causing the beast to recoil back. Hoxton followed up with another shot in the head putting it down. After this, the gang pushed up to help Wolf. With the gang covering him Dallas dragged Wolf back to the holdout room. His armor took the brunt of the blast but a few pellets still hit him.
"You'll be fine," Dallas reassured him.
"I've been through worse," Wolf grunted.
Dallas applied some bandages and gave him a few painkillers. Soon enough Wolf was back to mowing down cops.
"Ok, the transfers are done" Bain informed them.
The crew gave out a sigh of relief as they started to fight their way to the roof of the building looking out for more of those things. Once they got there they skirted around the collapsed portion and went to one of the edges. They stripped off all their heavy armor and one by one leaped across the gap to the adjacent building. They did this 3 more times before exiting the last building where the escape van was waiting to pick them up.
