Leah's POV

****************************

I had just finished unpacking all of my trophies when I heard light footsteps approaching my room. A few seconds later there was a knock.

"Leah?" Thea's mate Scar asked quietly, "May I come in?"

I roll my eyes in frustration.

"If your hear to make me apologize to your mate," I say slowly, my voice dripping with venom, "you might as well leave now as it is NOT going to happen."

"Look Leah, I know what your going through... trust me. Will you please just let me in so we can talk?" He sounds sincere, which just pisses me off more.

I storm open to the door and rip it open, taking a step closer to him, enraged.

"You have NO idea what I'm going through!" I'm practically screaming in his face, "None of you assholes do!"

I take a step back and try to slam the door in his face, dangerously close to crying.

He slips his foot between my door and the wall, then slowly pushes it open enough that his head can fit through and he can look at me.

"Leah, despite what you may think, I DO understand. I was a runt my entire life until I met your sister." he pauses as I stop trying to force the door closed on him and let him step in, "Thea told me everything, and believe me, there is no part of getting pushed around that I don't understand. Now can we please talk?"

I bite my lip, he sounds sincere, but can I trust him?

"Fine." I say uncertainly, sitting on my bed, "start talking. "

He smiles slightly and sits down beside me.

"I just wanted to know what's wrong. I know your mad at your sister but... Well it seems like there's something else bothering you." He sounds so reassuring, like all alphas do. His voice is urging me to tell him everything. I sigh and look down.

"Yeah.. I guess there kind of is. Back in LA.. Well I was actually kind of popular. But.. I'm nothing here. No.. I'm LESS than nothing. And.."

"You don't know how your going to deal with them." he finishes for me.

I nod, still looking at my knees, afraid to say the real source of my worry.

"Leah... I think we can trust him..." my wolf whispers into my mind.

"That's not all... is it." Scar is studying me silently. I look up and meet his eyes.

"No.... it's not." I whisper, my voice barely audible.

"You can tell me anything Leah. As your brother-in-mating I already think of you as family... Please let me help you." He smiles reassuringly at me and I sigh.

"It's my mate... he... He already turned sixteen and as soon as I do, I'll probably meet him... I'm scared that he won't want me because Im... well I'm weak... And ugly.. And.. And..." I start crying and he pulls me into a tight hug, rubbing my back and whispering soothing things.

When I had finally stopped crying he pulls back and looks at me.

"Leah, being small doesn't always mean your weak. It means your faster and more agile than your opponent and with how smart Thea says you are I have no doubt you could beat any kid your age if you started looking at your size as an asset."

I am taken off guard and don't even have a chance to think of an appropriate response before he continues.

"Not only that, but you are far from ugly. Look in the mirror Leah, you're beautiful. Any wolf stupid enough not to see these things doesn't even DESERVE to be your mate. I don't want to hear you talk down about yourself ever again, okay?" his voice is filled with brotherly concern, and my eyes fill with tears again, reminded of Cassidy's old rants about how I needed to be less hard on myself.

"O-Okay..." I sniffle, and he smiles.

"If you want, I could teach you how to fight. That way, you could show those spineless assholes your not some weakling." He grins and I look at him in shock.

"Really?! "

He nods, completely serious, and I hug him tightly.

"Thanks Scar...."

"It's no problem. We can train every Sunday afternoon, if that's alright with you." He smiles at me.

"That sounds great!" I'm ecstatic, I never thought I'd ever learn how to fight.

"I'm going to go to my room now, I'll see you in the morning." He stands and walks out, shutting the door softly behind him. I crawl up under my covers, hitting the light switch right next to my bed.

My last thought before I fall asleep is that Mason and his asshole friends better be ready, because I plan on kicking their asses next time they bug me.
