"Mer! How many burgers do you want?" Derek called from the grill to Meredith as she chased Emma around the open land. It was the fourth of July and they were going to have a quiet day out at the land, with a cook out and their own fire works.

"Two!" Meredith giggled, running to pick Emma up before the baby could toss herself back into the baby pool.

"Should I make a small one for Emma?"

"No she can have some of yours."

"Of course." Derek laughed, flipping the burgers.

"Da!" Emma yelled, wrapping her arms around Meredith's neck.

"Em!"

"Eh my Ma."

"What?" Derek laughed as Emma ran toward him, trying to keep from falling over.

"Eh my ma!" Emma beamed, falling on her bottom as she got closer.

"I love your ma." He smiled, picking her up and kissing her head.

"Eh dat?" Emma pointed to the grill.

"Dinner."

"My ba?"

"Mommy has it." Derek laughed.

"Ma." Emma held her hands out, immediately trying to move into Meredith's arms.

"Of course." Meredith giggled, taking her red white and blue sundress baby into her arms.

"Come here..." Derek smiled, taking Meredith's free hand and pulling her too her, kissing her.

"Mmm...hi."

"Hello..."

"Miss you."

"I'm right here." He whispered, kissing her again.

"I think you know what I mean." She breathed against his lips, as Emma messed with the strings of her top.

"I do..." He smiled.

"Mmm...."

"Food is almost ready."

"Yum." Meredith giggled, as Emma untied one side of her top. "Emma!"

"Ma!"

"Good job." Derek laughed.

"Derek...help me before my boob pops out."

"Fine." He rolled his eyes, taking Emma so Meredith could fix her top.

"I should know better then to wear these kinds of things around her."

"Keep it on for tonight." He smirked.

"Shut up."

"You started it."

"How did I start it?" She groaned, as Emma took off for the baby pool again.

"Talking about how you missed me." He laughed, wrapping his arms around her.

"Emma!" Meredith screamed from Derek's arms, in order to catch her daughter's attention. "No!"

"Mm!" Emma pointed to the baby pool.

"She's fine." Derek chuckled, kissing Meredith's cheek.

"Mm!" Emma picked up the red white and blue teddy bear Derek had gotten at the store and ran over to them, luckily abandoning the pool.

"Thank you Emma." Derek smiled.
