(In this story, UF!Sans fights the protagonist [in this case you] on the pacifist route instead of genocide. Also, instead of promising not to hurt you, UF!Toriel dares UF!Sans to kill the human.)

(I kind of got carried away here... not much actual fluff sorry ;|)

Bells chimed softly in the distance, breaking the eerie silence of the corridor. Light tried vainly to fill the hall through the grimy windows on one side, adorned with columns beside them. A once-pristine pattern of ruby red tiles now laid strewn with grime.

You touched the locket around your neck, reluctantly SAVEing. Chara, your ever-present ghost companion, had no words of wisdom. After Flowey's warning about Sans and Asgore, you weren't sure what to expect.

You stepped forward, walking slowly between the shadows formed by the pillars and the dim rays cast from the windows.

You stopped. Sans's silhouette stood a few meters in front of you, engulfed in shadow. Hadn't the hall been empty a minute ago?

"so." The skeleton sighed. "you've been busy, huh?"

"Sans-" you tried to speak up, but he cut you off.

"i've got a question for you," sans asked. "do you think everyone deserves mercy?"

"Of course," You said. "Humans or monsters, no one is irredeemable-"

"it was a rhetorical question, dumbass. of course you do." Though his face was obscured by shadows, you could hear the snarl in the monster's voice. It hurt to hear- more than any other, for some reason. Seeing Sans so angry- so unhappy- it felt awful, even though you'd never seen him any other way.

"well, here's a better question," the skeleton said. "do you have a death wish?"

You tried to say something in response, but couldn't make the words form.
"because if you take another step forwards... i'm gonna have to make good on that bet of mine."

"Like this?" you asked, stepping towards him.

"heh heh heh..." Sans said. "this is why i don't gamble." the skeleton stepped into the light. He wore his signature winter coat, weathered and torn, skull sunken into the hood. His eyes were closed, and stress marks were visible above his eyes.

"it's an awful day out there, you know," he said. "the bird's ain't singin'... the flowers are long gone..." Sans smirked, but he didn't look happy. "at times like these, kids like you...

"...a r e   l o n g   p a s t   d e a d."

Sans's eyes flicked open, devoid of pupils, and he jerked his arm out of his coat. You skidded into the wall, landing against it with a harsh thud. It must've been blue magic, like Papyrus had used, but you had no experience with directional change.

Before you could give more thought to the situation, the wall behind you began to crack. You jumped out of the way as bones burst through, sending concrete and debris flying.

A giant skeletal dragon head materialized at Sans's side and flew towards you, holding some sort of energy in its mouth. You rolled out of the way, barely avoiding a massive blast that left your ears ringing. You struggled to stand back up.

"here we go." Sans said.

"Sans, it doesn't have to be like this. We don't need to fight!" You pleaded.

The monster ignored you. "our research uncovered massive anomalies. fragments of timelines, shattering in and out of existence." he kept talking as he summoned more bones, seemingly effortlessly. Who knew he'd be this powerful? Even Flowey had assumed Sans was only still alive because of Papyrus.
