After smoking one last cigarette Lucia made herself ready to go to bed. She fell asleep pretty fast. But being haunted by a nightmare she woke up, which ended with her getting way to less sleep. Like all the nights before. As she looked into the mirror the next morning she wasn't surprised by the large bags hanging under her eyes. She applied some make up to cover them up. The girl quickly got changed and ready for school. Like yesterday her brother was already waiting downstairs. To Lucias surprise Sasha wasn't finished yet.

"Morning turtle. Ready for the day?" Her brother asked. Lucia who could barely hold her eyes open answered monotone: "yeah I've slept so well I could run marathon right now". Jake side hugged his sister while asking concerned "Are you still dreaming about - what happened?"
Lucia eyed him but nodded slowly. Her brother wanted to say something to make his sister feel better as they were interrupted by Sasha. Her voice was so loud in Lucias ears: "Ready to go!"

They arrived at Lucias school at the same time as the brown van parked next to Jake's car. Jake was about to get out of the car to shout at the driver for almost crashing him the day before when he dropped his sister of at school. But as Lucia saw who was the driver she hold her brother back gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Remember you promised you would pick me up today" she told her brother. Which made Sasha, who was sitting shotgun as always, look up from her phone at Jake with a "really?" expression on her face. Before Lucia could make a comment on the girls actions her brother interfered and said "yes I will be waiting here. Love you" And with that Lucia hopped out of the car and Jack drove off.
