April looks at the broken boy with sorrow in her eyes. She watches as his tears fall. "Hey, let's go see Zane. He was asking for you," she says gently. He looks over at her and nods. They walk together, April's arm around Wyatt's waist to help keep him steady.
When they get to the car, Wyatt gets in the passenger side and closes his eyes.

"Now hold on tight to the rod so tha' the fish don' pull it outta yer hands," Zach tells him. Wyatt looks up at his grandda and he nods. Suddenly there's a tug and Wyatt tries to reel in the fish and stand up for better leverage, but instead falls into the freezing cold water. His grandfather quickly helps up the sixteen year old. "That was a classic," he says between gasps of air. He's laughing so hard that tears are trickling down his tanned, leathery cheeks. Wyatt smiles while shivering and they both laugh as they get to shore.

When April gently shakes his shoulder, he comes out of the dream he was having. "C'mon. Let's go see Zane," she says. He nods and they go up to the fifth floor. They get to Zane's room and Wyatt quickly goes over to the bed. He gently moves the red hair from Zane's face and Zane opens his mysterious gray green eyes and smiles when he sees Wyatt staring at him. "Hey," he croaks out. "Hey, yourself," Wyatt responds. He looks down at Zane's ankle and sees that there's no more swelling. "How's the ankle?" "Still sore, but it'll be fine. I'm......Wyatt, have you been crying?" "I'm fine. Don't..." he starts but Zane cuts him off. "If you don't tell me what's wrong, I'm gonna shove my eleven inch foot up your ass. Tell me what's wrong." Wyatt looks away and sighs. "I'm going out. I'll be back shortly," April says, getting up.
Wyatt takes in a deep breath and says in a rush "My grandfather died." He feels tears start to run down his face and he sobs. Zane sits up and he says quietly "C'mere. I've gotcha." Wyatt stands and sits on the edge of the hospital bed and leans into Zane's open arms. Zane hugs Wyatt close and he quietly whispers "I'm here. Shhshshshshhh. It's okay." Wyatt closes his eyes and says "I......I gotta let my f...father know." "Shhshhshhh. I'm gonna go with you. Okay?" Wyatt shakes his head and Zane gently kisses the top of his head. "I'm getting released today. I'm going with you." Wyatt sighs and says "Guess there's no talkin' you outta this." "Damn right."
Wyatt soon hears a nurse come in and she hands a release form to Zane to sign. He does and he's handed his clothes. "Thanks." The nurse just nods and leaves. Wyatt gets off the bed for Zane to get out and change. He quickly strips out of the hospital gown and slides into the sweatpants. He puts on the shirt and Wyatt opens his arms for a hug. Zane wastes no time and steps into Wyatt's open arms.
They embrace and Wyatt sighs. "C'mon. We need to get outta here." Zane nods in agreement and they release each other.
They get out of the room and a nurse calls out to Wyatt. "Sir, I......I'm sorry. I need you to sign the release form for us to...um...do....the..ah..uh....autopsy." Wyatt looks at him and he nods. He's handed some papers and he signs on all the dotted lines. He sees his grandfather's full name, Zachary James-Lee Chandler, and he feels the tears burn a track down his face. He signs his name and hands the papers to the nurse.
They head to the elevator and see April standing next to it. She smiles and Wyatt smiles back, wrapping his arm around Zane's waist. They step into the elevator and Zane leans against Wyatt.
Soon, they get to the ground floor and all three of them step out. "Hey, mom," Zane begins. April looks over at him and raises an eyebrow. "Thanks for helping me. I.....I know I'm kinda difficult to get along with," he finishes. She smiles and Wyatt clears his throat. "I need to get to the....the medical prison." April looks at him, confused. "I gotta tell my dad. Even though he beat the dog shit out of me, he still has a right to know." April nods and they get to the car, where April drives them to the Wake County medical prison.
When they get there, Wyatt quietly tells April "I'm gonna be fine. I'm gonna take Zane with me. But Mrs. April, I don't want you to see my father. He's........he's disgusting with women. I don't wanna expose you to that." "Wyatt, I'm a social worker. I can handle him." Wyatt looks at her and shrugs.
At the entrance, the guard scans them for any weapons. He waves them through where Wyatt steps up to the front desk. "I would like to speak with my....my father." The man at the desk nods and says, "His name, please?" "Damon Leigh Chandler." "He's been moved to room 904. He's been very uncooperative. But I'll let you visit, since your his son. But....your freinds need to stay out here."
Zane gets angry, but April places a hand on his shoulder and shakes her head. He looks back to Wyatt and nods, taking a seat. Wyatt steels himself to face the monster and goes on back. A nurse escorts him, asking him to remove any pens, belts, shoelaces and anything else that could be used as a weapon.
They get to the elevator and enter, the nurse turning the key to operate the elevator and she presses the 9th floor button. They get to the floor and walk to room 904. Wyatt stops in front of the door and looks in while the nurse opens the door.
When the door opens, Wyatt steps inside and the nurse closes the door, but doesn't lock it. Wyatt clears his throat and the man on the bed looks up. "Well, well, well. If it isn't the cur who put me in here," the man sneers, sending chills down Wyatt's back. Wyatt turns on a light and faces his father. "How've you been, dad?" Damon stands up and walks tworads Wyatt. Wyatt sees that the years of heavy drinking, then sudden sobriety hasn't done anything to help his father's looks.
The man looks like his son, only harsher. His eyes hold an angry, sadistic light. And his face has deep wrinkles. "Why have you just now decided to visit me, you worthless cur?" Wyatt sees his father's eyes grow even angrier. "I just wanted to let you know that grandpa is dead," Wyatt says, then he turns and goes out.
Damon looks after his son. He stands up and starts screaming after his son "YOUR A FUCKIN LIAR!!!! I HOPE YOU DIE!" The door is locked and Damon grabs his mattress and throws it across the room. "I'M GONNA KILL THAT CUR!!! I'M GONNA RIP HIS INSIDES OUT," but before he can continue his rant, two orderlies come in, restrain him, and give him a shot to knock him out.
Wyatt sees Zane and April and he says quietly "My father knows. Let's get outta here." Zane and April nod and they go to the car.
