Darkness surrounds him,
Empty and unforgiving
He shivers in the cold
The chattering of his teeth
Almost masks the sound,
But he still hears it:
Faintly, in the distance,
A soft click, and suddenly
Energy floods his veins,
Filling him with a glowing golden warmth
That is so bright, so powerful,
It seems to spill out of him
And make him shine with light
That vanquishes the darkness
He had so long suffered in
