Taken Away

He lets out a hiss of pain
As he feels the hole
Tearing itself into him
Agony bubbles up inside him,
Nearly burning his brain
With its intensity
He feels himself lifted,
His body tilted back
As the liquid
Drains out of him
By the time he's set down,
He feels lighter,
A numbing emptiness
Replacing the bubbles
There's a pause,
Then it happens again
And again, and again
Until he has nothing left to give
And is tossed away
Having satisfied their thirst
