If you do not wish to take either the traditional publishing or self-publishing route, there are other paths that may lead to revenue and even your book on retailer sites. The online posting of stories, often in serialized format, remains ever popular. Wattpad (in my opinion) is the world's best place for posting stories in an online format. Wattpad's breakout hits have led to publishing and movie deals.
Patreon is another popular site for selling online content wherein a writer's patrons pay a monthly fee for exclusive content. Some writers have used Patreon to build an audience and a publishing budget.
