You created your story. You own all rights to that story unless you sign those rights to someone else in a contract. Every book has several types of rights you can sell. These include publishing rights for print, e-book, and audio; entertainment rights for media, film, games, and more; and territory rights for countries and languages.

No one can publish or make money off your work without your permission. Guard your rights, as they can be highly valuable. Never sign away rights for free, and never sign away rights without a reversion clause.
