"are you almost done?" karl questioned as you blocked his view with your arm
you took different colored sharpies and continued to sketch on karl's new white shoes.
karl beat you to it, and was growing impatient.
you scribbled one last time, and signed your name with a pink heart on the side of the shoe.
you smiled at your creation, and put the caps on all the markers.
karl was laid out on the floor, bored out of his mind waiting for you.
you shook his leg and held the pair of shoes in front of him.
his eyes beamed and his smile grew.
"these are incredible, i love them so much." karl said, as he put the shoes aside and pulled your shoes out.
your shoes were all sorts of colors
you noticed the right shoe had a little sketch of you and karl holding a heart.
his signature, little mushrooms, and some sketches of cats
you adored the shoes.
"karl i love these so much, they're adorable. look it's us!" you say pointing to the sketch again.
karl wrapped his arm around your shoulder, and saw how happy you looked.
you turn your head to look at him again, and it felt different.
a good type of different.
you admired the small features on his face.
he tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, and pulled you gently closer to him.
your heart was racing so fast at this point.
best friends definitely didn't do this.
you leaned in slowly to see if he wanted this just as much as you did.
he cupped your jaw and finally closed the gap between you two.
his warm lips melted perfectly with yours.
it felt like one of those cliche rain scene kisses in those romance movies.
his other hand wrapped around your waist and pulled you closer if that was even possible.
you wrapped your arm around his neck and pulled away to catch your breath.
karl gently held your face and turned a deep shade of red.
both of you had realized what had happened,
it was unexplainable
everything was different with him.
karl sighed.
"i've dreaded saying this because of my fear of rejection, but will you be mine?" karl questioned, holding your hands.
you smiled and nodded
"of course karl," you said
he took a deep breath and hugged you.
"i love you. a lot." you mumbled into his shoulder.
"love you just as much."
