Night Terrors (Theo)

  I was being held back by a hunter as Theo was hanging from a tree by his arms. "No, no. Please don't kill him. Please, " I begged.

  "He's a monster. He must die, " the hunter said. He then cut Theo in half.

  "Nooo! " I screamed.

  I woke up covered in sweat and jolted up, screaming. Moments later my mother bursts into the room and runs over to me. She held me tight and said, "Hey, it was just a dream. "

  I stopped screaming and then started to panic remembering Theo dying in the dream. "I have to call him, I have to call him, " I said frantically.

  "Sweetheart, you're okay. Everything is fine. You're awake now. It was all just a terrible dream, " my mom said.

  "Yeah, yeah, okay. But I need to call him. I need to know he's okay mom, " I said.

  My mother let go of me. "Alright. Call him then. I'm going back to bed. Holler if you need anything, " she said. She then left the room and closed the door behind her.

  I grabbed my phone off the charger. I turned it on and unlocked it. I opened my contacts and then called Theo. I then held my phone to my ear. It rang once, twice and then he picked up.

  "Hello, " Theo said, his voice a little raspy, obviously just had woken up.

I sighed in relief. "Oh, thank goodness, " I said.

  "Well that's one way to greet someone. Is everything alright? " Theo asked.

  "I, um, I had a horrible nightmare. You died and it all just felt so real, " I said.

  "I see. So you called to make sure it wasn't, " Theo said.

  "Exactly, " I said.

   "Do you want me to come over?" Theo asked.

  "Um, yeah. Please, " I said.

  "Alright. Leave the window open. I'll be there shortly, " Theo said.

  "Okay, see you soon, " I said. I then hung up and set my phone on the nightstand. I then got up and opened the window.

  I got back into bed. I had taken a short shower to clean myself of all the sweat. I had apparently finished dressing just in time because moments later Theo climbed in through my window. He then closed it behind him. He walked over, kicked off his shoes and then sat beside me in bed.

  "Your hair's wet. Did you shower before I got here? " Theo asked.

  "Yeah. I woke up covered in sweat and I needed to wash it off, " I said.

  "I see. Alright. Do you want to do anything or? " Theo asked.

  I laid down and then said, "Just hold me. "

  "Okay, " Theo said. He then laid down and wrapped his arms around me. I laid my head on his chest. I soon fell asleep listening to his heartbeat.
