Chapter 6

After eating, Filch escorted both boys to their new shared room, smiling that he finally got to do so. He had been waiting a long time for the knuckleheads who got themselves stuck in there, and was more than happy that it was the two most self-centered kids in the school. It would be a shit show, that's for sure.

They got to a painting of an old man in a sleeping cap. Filch cleared his throat and the old man woke up startled.

"I quite liked being alone. Well, the name's Gary. That's all you're getting. Guess what the password is." The two boys looked at each other confused, and shrugged.

"Gary?" Harry tried, receiving a smack on the head from Draco, not going unnoticed by Filch, but he didn't care enough to do anything about it.

"Yeah- how'd you know?" He said, and the portrait swung open. Harry smirked and smacked Draco back and followed Filch behind the painting. There was a small, dim-lit hallway before coming to an old wooden door. Filch took out a large, rusted gold key and unlocked it. They looked in, then looked at each other and rolled their eyes.

"Ladies first." Draco sneered.

"Then go ahead." Harry remarked. The blonde huffed and turned facing the door. At the same time both boys stepped through the doorway, but got stuck considering how narrow it is. They both strained to get in first but collapsed on top of each other instead, much like how they did in the Room of Requirement the day before.

Filch slammed the door on them both as they stood up and brushed off their clothes, looking around the room. There were two beds next to each other, similar to how they were set up in the dorms just, less of them. There was a trunk at the foot of each bed, dressers on the outside, and a small night table in between them, with one window directly above it.

"Cozy." Harry sarcastically mumbled, walking over to the bed with red decor, the other one decked in green. He opened his trunk holding all of his belongings and sighed. He pulled out his gray shirt, a green hoodie, and gray sweatpants. He looked to his right and didn't see his roommate where he was just standing. On his left though, the bathroom door was closed unlike when they walked in, so Harry decided it was okay to change in there.

He stripped down to his underwear and went to put on his sweatpants, when the bathroom door opened, startling him.

"Merlin, Potter! Put on some clothes with you- oh god!" He yelled, shielding his eyes.

"Well what do you think I was doing!" Harry shouted in response. He jumped into his pants as fast as he could, and when Draco moved his hand away, he just stared at the boy. "Do you mind?"

"Yes, actually, I do mind. I think I'm scarred from seeing that." Draco gagged, walking back over to his bed. "I'm going to pretend that never happened so we can go through Hogsmeade with at least a sliver of dignity. Most of my dignity is gone though, considering I have to be there in the same group as you, and now we live together."

"And everyone knows it too." Harry snarkily replied, pulling his shirt over his head. "And we still have to go to Hogsmeade together. Just stay as far away from me and my friends as you can."

"Not like I want to hang around you bloody Gryffindorks. I lose a brain cell every time one of you so much as opens your mouth." Harry, now fully dressed, smirked and walked out of the room with Draco following behind, but slammed the door in his face before the Slytherin could walk out.

The group of six all met up in Three Broomsticks, sipping butterbeers before their walk through the town. Harry and Draco sat across from each other, barely touching their butterbeer. They tuned out the conversation the others were having and just sneered at one another. It was very odd to everyone else, but no one mentioned how strange they looked considering the fact that it would just ensue another conversation about how much they both hate each other, followed by a yelling match about god knows what.

Pansy and Ron both begged the group to go to Honeydukes, so the others gave in. Abandoning their drinks, they set off for the candy shop.

When they walked in, the group split immediately. Pansy and Hermione went off to look at the big rainbow lollipops, and Blaise and Ron were suddenly infatuated with the idea of getting a dozen packages of exploding bonbons and chocolate frogs. Harry went over and looked at the pepper imps, ignoring the slytherin boy next to him, but Draco had other plans.

"Pepper imps? A bit basic, really. I thought someone as heroic as yourself would choose something more exciting." He drawled sarcastically.

"Well, what else do you suggest? I don't suppose you actually eat anything other than apples, so please, enlighten me." Harry replied, returning the package of pepper imps back to the shelf they were on.

Draco picked up a white chocolate skull and smirked. "These are the best things in this shop." Harry rolled his eyes and walked over to where the other boy was standing proudly.

"That's not even real chocolate."

"tHaT's NoT eVeN rEaL cHoCoLaTe." Draco mimicked. "Fine. Well why don't you just try it for yourself and tell me it's bad then! Like I said, they're the best thing in this shop."

"Fine- then you'll have to have something I like." Harry huffed.

"It better not be chocolate frogs!" Draco called after him, grabbing two white chocolate skulls off the shelf and going to the register to pay.

Harry walked up to the counter after him, and bought something out of Draco's line of sight, smirking when he did.

They stood outside the store in silence, waiting for their friends for what felt like hours. Finally, Hermione and Pansy walked out of the door giggling, and started walking the opposite way of where the boys were standing.

"'Mione! Hey! Where are you two going?" Harry shouted at her, both of them running to catch up. The girls laughed and released each other's hands.

"Well, if you were listening at Three Broomsticks, you would've heard the plans to split off after the candy shop. We're a group of six, so we each have buddies- me and Pansy, Ron and Blaise, and you and Draco." She told them, pointing as she said each of their names. "We're meeting back at Madam Puddifoot's at 5 for tea before we head back to the castle. We're gonna go get haircuts now- Pansy said they're really nice at the salon across the street." Hermione smiled. They said goodbye and left the two boys standing in the cool air, confused and nervous.
