-Kayla's POV
We were in a wasteland, that much was certain. Rocks and rubbish littered the vast land, some cans filled with paper and coal- most likely used for fires- were also scattered around. My heart thumped louder the more we walked. Nerves clouded my every sense, hands twitching. I probably looked loopy to many. The Doctor had stopped us both on a large rock, overlooking an area. He breathed in deeply as I narrowed my eyes.
The drums in my head have came back ever since we heard The Master was alive. At least, you believed they were drums, seeing as nothing else fit. The Doctor doesn't know- he doesn't need to. Probably would think I was crazy. Though I have been dealing with the drums, they seem to be going hay-wire right now, getting louder as we progress. Perhaps we're getting closer to The Master? I do not know...
"He's near, isn't he?" I whispered, my voice slightly echoing throughout the silent land. The Doctor nodded, his sharp eyes scanning every inch of land around us. We stood for a few seconds before the sharp sound of metal hitting metal exploded across the area.
Thump
Thump
Thump
Thump
My breath hitched in my throat, eyes snapping to The Doctor. It was him, definitely him.
Thump
Thump
Thump
Thump
I looked behind me, detecting the sound a short distance away. I ran, noticing The Doctor running beside me as well.
Thump Thump Thump Thump
It was quicker this time, and louder, seeing as The Doctor and I were nearly there. I jumped over a loose barrel skillfully, flicking my hair away from my face and continuing to run. Jumping over rocks and crates, we both stop short at the sight in the distance. There was a small silhouette on the hill quite a way off. I felt my heart stop at the sight of the hooded figure.
The Master yelled loudly from where he was, as I frowned and narrowed my eyes at him. I stopped short with my mouth wide open as he zoomed into the air, and jumped off past the hill. "What the hell?!" I exasperated, as The Doctor and I began running after him again. He didn't even tell me off for language.
Passing a crate, I slip slightly with a small squeak before quickly lifting myself and sprinting forwards, not even noticing that The Doctor had stopped. I look up after a second and freeze still. The Doctor was a few feet behind me and The Master only a metre ahead. The Master pauses, eyes flickering to mine with an unrecognisable expression before they glazed over. I was paralysed with shock, being so close to him again...
"Kayla." The Doctor's voice broke me back into reality, and I back away hurriedly with The Doctor grabbing a hold of me. The Master suddenly grinned and chuckled lowly, his blue skull fading to the surface and back. I stared wordlessly at the sight. "Please, let me help!" The Doctor called to him, as I elbow him. I'm here too.
The Master looked slightly annoyed, tilting his head to the side. "You're burning up your own life force!" The Doctor continued as The Master did another famous grin and switched to his blue skull and back. Laughing, he jumped down from the rail he was on as my legs un-freeze and we continued running.
Jumping past the rail The Master jumped from, we were greeted by the sight of Wilfred and a group of elders. "Oh my gosh, Doctor, Kayla, you're a sight for sore eyes!" Wilfred exclaimed happily, his arms outstetched as we rush past him. "Out of my way!" The Doctor rushed, as I leaned over a large edge and stared down into the plain beneath. He was gone. I growled in annoyance, hitting my fist against the rock.
"Did we do it, is that them?" I heard once I turned around. "Tall and thin, big brown coat- with a companion." "The Silver Cloak. It worked!". There, in all glory, was Wilfred. But Wilfred seemed to have brought along a posse with him, whom surrounded Wilfred and chatted. The Doctor and I shared a look. "'Cos Wilf phoned Netty, who phoned June, and her sister lives opposite Broadfell, and she saw the police box, and her neighbour saw these two heading east."
The Doctor walked up to Wilfred. "Did you tell them who we are? You promised!" He whispered to Wilfred as he grinned up at The Doctor. "No, I just said you were a doctor, that's all." Wilfred shurgs and smiles over to me as I stand beside him. "And might I say, it is an honour to see you both again!" He saluted.
I smiled back at the man lightly, saluting to him as well. The Doctor lazily copied. A women with a red coat looked at The Doctor with fascination. "Ooh, but you never said he was a looker! He's gorgeous, take a photo!" The women grinned as I quickly walked over. "Not bad, eh?" I said, taking the camera off her and raising it up high. "Me next." An elderly man commented as I suppressed laughter.
"I'm Minnie. Minnie the Menace. It's a long time since I had a photo with a handsome man." Minnie stated as the rest of the gang flocked in with Minnie around The Doctor. "Just get off him, leave him alone will you?" Wilfred protested as I grinned from behind the camera at The Doctor's horrified face. He was surrounded by elderly men and women. Heh.
"Wait! I want you in the picture as well!" Minnie called to me as my smile dropped instantly and The Doctor smirked. "Oh... Oh no I can operate the camera perfectly well-" I tried reasoning as a man came over and pushed me beside Minnie and a man. I cleared my throat awkwardly as everyone smiled up to the camera. "Come on, Doctor. Give us a smile." Minnie said from beside me as I look over and see The Doctor do the fakest smile in the world. It looked more like a grimace than anything. I snorted at the sight.
"That's it!" Minnie nodded before looking to the camera again. "Hold on..." A click sounded and the man looked to the camera again. "Did it flash?" He asked as Minnie shook her head. "No, there's a blue light, try again." She said. "I'm all fingers and thumbs!" The man said, grinning gleefully as I sighed. "We're really kind of busy, y'know?" The Doctor said as Minnie looked to him. "Oh, it won't take a tick. Keep smiling." She ordered before I noticed she had lowered her hand to his backside.
"Is that your HAND, Minnie?!" He yelled out, jumping as I giggled. "Good boy." Minnie grinned at him, patting his backside.

The bus halted to a stop, The Doctor, Wilfred and I all coming off of it. "Come on, then. Here we are, hurry up." Wilfred said to us as we stopped outside and waved to Minnie and the other senior citizens. "Bye! You behave, bye!" Wilfred called to the bus as it drove off, before waving The Doctor and I over to a little cafe. "Over here, come on."
"What's so special about this place? We've passed fifteen cafes on the way." The Doctor said as I nodded in agreement. "Though it is beautiful." I added, seeing the christmas banners along it. "Afternoon!" Wilfred smiled at a couple as they exited the cafe. Walking in, I wasn't surprised to see it as any other cafe. Looking at The Doctor for permission he looks to me for a few seconds before smiling. "If you're getting a tea, get me one too will you?" He said simply and followed Wilfred to a seat.
I'm addicted to tea, can't get enough of it. Rummaging through my pockets, I take out a five pound note and walk up to the counter. "Two teas please, both with milk and no sugar thanks." I say to the women as she nods to me and puts it into the register. "That'll be two pounds thirty." She says as I hand her the five quid. "Keep the change." I say, walking over to where The Doctor and Wilfred were chatting.
"Oh, we had some good times, didn't we, though? All those Atoms things and planets in the sky and me with that paint gun.." Wilfred chuckled as I sat beside The Doctor on the double seat. A moment passed with The Doctor and I staring at Wilfred emotionlessly, knowing he's thinking of something. "I keep... Seeing things. His face at night." Wilfred said softly, though it seemed to pain him.
"Who are you?"
