Today is a really big day, it's my first day at providence, my new school for the next semester. Going to a new country for school is really out of my comfort zone, but my mother told me that being an exchange student was one of the best times of her life and if I didn't do it I would regret it.
So here I am, staring into the mirror at this girl I have no idea who is. She's a girl who is more outgoing and adventurous, a girl who leaves her whole life behind in the states for a whole semester, a girl who is about to go into a school half way through their year without knowing anybody. I strive to become that girl, but for now I'm the girl who's on the verge of having a panic attack. Great.

"Here are your classes and your peer guide will be here shortly." A lady with a posh English accent informs me as she slides a sheet of paper across her desk. "I know it can be tough, especially since we're already halfway through the school year, but if there is anything I can do to make this transition easier please let me know." She smiles."Thank you, I will let you know if I have any questions." I smile back in my plain American accent. Another thing that will make me stand out.
"Just come knocking on my door if you need anything at all." She says at the same time a Knock was heard, coming from the other side of the door.
"Come in," she called."Mrs. Butäh, I was told you wanted to see me?" A browned haired girl asked, entering the room.
"Yes, we have a new student who apparently has the same schedule as you, I was wondering if you'd be willing to show her around and stick with her till she gets familiar with the in's and out's of providence.""Of course," she smiles, turning her attention towards me. "I'm Millie Brown, it's nice to meet you." She says holding her hand out for a shake.
"It's nice to meet you too, I'm Avalon Stephens."
