Bucky's POV

"Doll? Doll! Wake up, please..." I desperately panted, shaking the unconscious Psyche that lay in a chair in front of me.

"Bucky! What happened? Are you okay?!" Steve cried out as he ran into the room, Clint sprinting behind. He froze when he saw our lovely mate passed out.

"Oh my gosh... Who did this?" Clint whispered, rushing to Psyche's side to check for a pulse in her wrist.

"She's just passed out," I confirmed for my archer friend, who let out a sigh of relief and let his hand trail down her wrist to tightly grasp her hand.

"Your earpiece died Bucky, we were so worried, what happened?" Steve inquired, coming to kneel down besides me, his gaze not leaving our mate.

"After Psyche's earpiece died, I came to the second floor to find her, and I guess mine died too soon after that," I told them.

Clint frowned, "Both your earpieces go out after reaching the second floor?" he pondered out loud, and I just shrugged.

"I just came in here and found her tied up, I've been trying to wake her up since..." I sadly finished.

Several minutes must've passed with Steve and I gently shaking Psyche, and Clint gripping her hand so tight her knuckles turned white. We weren't sure what any of our attempts would do, for when a person is unconscious you can't just snap them awake as easily as you could when they're asleep.

Thankfully, she soon stirred. She mumbled something incoherent, and her eyes fluttered open, revealing her beautiful blue orbs. I hugged her close to my chest, a shaky breath escaping me.

"What happened...?" She asked us, her voice timid and afraid.

"We were hoping you could tell us that," Steve spoke softly, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, "Buck came in here and found you unconscious."

She pulled back a bit from my embrace, not enough to fully leave my arms, but just enough for me to see her face. I could now see her lips gently sloping downwards in a frown, and her eyebrows furrowed as she thought deeply.

"I... can't remember," she sadly said, her head dropping. I brought her back to my chest, I couldn't bear seeing her look so defeated.

"It's okay," Clint reassured, "the important thing is that you're here, and you seem okay... so far. We can take you back to the lab, and Bruce could run some tests just in case".

Steve nodded in agreement, "It'd be good for you to stay at the tower, just for a day if that's what you'd want, while your test results get ready," he said, standing up, obviously not wanting to be in this place anymore where we were extremely prone to danger.

Finally letting Psyche go, I stood up and stretched out my hand for her to take. She accepted it and slowly rose up.

"Should we get back to the quinjet then?" I softly asked her.

She smiled, "I think Clint and Steve are right, it would be the best course of action to get to the tower".

Nodding, I placed a hand on the small of her back. Steve and Clint followed close behind as we trudged back to the quinjet.

Once we were securely inside, and Clint was in the pilots deck starting up, Psyche trudged to her private room. I didn't want to disturb her, so I trudged to Steve's room, and plopped down next to him on the tan leather couch.

"You good?" my blonde mate softly asked, placing a gentle hand over mine. His baby blues seemed to bore into my soul, trying to read my thoughts.

I nodded and tilted my head and placing it on his shoulder, "What about you?", I inquired in return.
