Then We Fell

Chapter Six

"Mason I don't think I should be here " I tell him for what feels like the millionth time"

"Kay , listen thier's nothing wrong with you being here I like your company " he smiles at me

Am staring back at him , thiers just something about his blue eyes that instantly make you feel comfortable around him

It's a Saturday morning ,I was at home alone when Mason suddenly knocked at my door telling me to come over ,of course I instantly neglected but after him pleading and making "the baby eyes" I gave in. I just don't want to run into his brother, ever since that night I have been perfectly avoiding him and now I'm at the one place ,were am mostly likely to run into him

" So we have eggs, butter , milk  essence, strawberries, what else do we need"  Mason says as he runs over the ingredients placed in front of him

He had asked me earlier what we would do for the day and I suggested making cupcakes, because last time the couldn't stop complementing about them, so I told him we would make some just the way my mum taught me

" The limiting ingredient is flour , where can I get that " I asked him amused of how excited he was

" Sure thing"
" Top cabinet to your left , if you need some help just tell me  " he smiles back

I didn't think I'd actually enjoy spending time with Mason , I'm now glad that I agreed to spend the day with him

It's quite high and I didn't want to bother Mason so instead I grab a chair and adjust it just above the cabinet

"Kay are you sure you don't need my help , I can grab it for you " he peaks over at me , whilst crouched down grabbing something from the lower cabinet

"No no , it's fine I got it" 

"Alright then "

Even with the added height , the flour  is pressed in the corner so now I need to press myself futhur to reach it

'Urgghh why is it pressed so far away '

Am now standing on my tiptoes

'Just a little further'

As am getting off the chair I miss my footing, and instantly know that this will hurt like hell , so I brace myself ready to feel the impact but I suddenly feel a pair of arms circling around me. It takes me a moment to come out of my disoriented state

I look up to see a pair of blue eyes staring back at me with a concerned look in his eyes

My arms are pressed against his shoulders whilst he's have strongly gripped my back and waist

He's concerned look turns into relief and that's when he loosens his hold a bit , and I just realized that Mason is the one supporting me and if he lets go my back would meet the ground

" Kaylee Are you alright" his tone sounds sincere and worried whilst still staring at me and I nod slowly  in response

He doesn't let go but looks relived by my answer

I've never seen such blue ocean eyes , that would make you want to dive into them , unlike Ian's that are cyan grey and mysterious they have some lure whilst Mason's are calm giving

I feel him draw his hand from my back .He's looking at me with curious and something else

My brain instantly begins to panick
