(Eren's POV)

I walked down the corridors of the worn out castle that the squad had taken shelter in for so long. It was lunch time, and I could hear everyone talking to one another, like any normal day. I, on the other hand, prefered to roam around the castle to take in it's simple beauty.

But on these small walks, I was never alone.

"Oi, brat, what are you staring at?"

I jumped a bit, the voice of my captain ringing in my ears.

"O-Oh, I'm sorry. Was I staring at something?"

He was in front of me, not even two steps away. He had an interesting look, one of curiosity mixed with slight irritation, but all the while still looked youthful and playful.

"As a matter of fact, you were. Care to take a guess what you were oh so intently staring at before I had to yell at the top of my lungs just to drag your attention away from it?"

I gulped. I had a feeling this was a trick question...

"I-I don't really know, Captain..."

Instead of talking endlessly about what I've done to annoy him or punish me for making him angry, or even yell at me for giving a wrong response like he usually does, he gives a small 'Tch' before turning on his heels and walking down the corridor. Of course, I wasn't going to let him get away like that.

"Captain!"

I started to run after him, when I took the first step, he bolted down the hall. He was fast for someone with short legs!

'Something tells me I'm going to end up in Hell for that...'

I ran after him, but could never catch up. I could only keep his pace by occasionally slowing down and speeding up.

We kept running for what seemed like hours, twisting around the complicated structure of the building. But no matter how fast I ran, I could never catch up.

I stoped by a window to call it quits on the chase, catching my breath with quivering lungs and shaky legs. I had ran for a long time, longer than even the time when Shadis ordered me to run with Sasha that one day... sheesh, those are memories I don't want to call back now.

I stood up and saw Levi still running down the corridor. I decided to call out his name again, despite knowing he wouldn't just stop right then and there and come back.

"Captai-!"

My voice was cut off when the window next to me suddenly shattered and I felt a sharp pain in my right arm. I winced and tried not to scream, looking at my arm to see why it hurt so bad.

And I saw something slightly larger than a needle, protruding from my arm. There was a small glass bulb at the end of it with a strange purple looking liquid in it. I stared at it, slightly intruiged by the color.

But after a few seconds, the liquid was suddenly flowing through the needle and into my arm!

My arm now hurts like Hell, and I screamed under the pain. In response to my scream, however, I heard another.

"Eren!!"

I tried to look up to see who it was that had screamed my name, but before I could, I collapsed.

(Levi's POV)

'Damn brat... who gave him the right to stare at me so sexually like that...?'

I ran down the hallway as fast as I could, trying hard to outrun the brat who was so intent on trying to force information out of me. It wasn't hard per say, but it wasn't exactly easy. Trying to outrun someone when you just want to die of embarrassment because of said person isn't an easy task.

But I managed to do it for a whole twenty minutes. Talk about exhausting.

I after a while, I heard his footsteps stop. I think he's talking a break, but now's my chance to get away. I'm not letting him regain his strength and get to me!

I kept running down the hallway, but I soon heard the sound of a window breaking. At first I didn't care and kept running, but I froze when I heard a deafening scream. I stopped in my tracks and looked back to see what had happened, and I saw Eren, nearly crippled next to a shattered window with a syringe looking object stuck in his right arm, filled with a purple liquid.

It held the color of poison.

"Eren!!"

The moment I screamed his name, he fell to the ground. I immediatley ran toward him, my fatigue disappearing completley. When I reached him, I ended up falling to my knees, holding his now limp body in my arms after removing the syringe, trying not to burst into tears.

"Eren... Eren... This can't happen... not to you, my precious Eren... Why did this have to happen...?"

After that, I couldn't help but cry. I sobbed into his shirt, but instead of hearing his heartbeat and the warmth of his body, there was no sound but my sobs, and his body was becoming as cold as a corpse's.

My eyes widened, realizing that my worst nightmare had come true. Eren had slipped from my grasp... and it was my fault...

I hadn't even gotten the chance to confess my feelings to him...

At that moment, I felt a sharp pain in my left arm that hurt worse than most things i've experienced. When I looked down at my arm, I saw yet another syringe, filled with the same deadly poison.

I closed my eyes and took a deep, quivering breath. I had failed. Humanity's strongest soldier had not only lost his love, but his life soon to follow.

And as I predicted, I soon felt light headed. After a few quick and strained breaths, I collapsed, and the world went completley black.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I awoke screaming, as was Eren. I quickly sat up and looked at him with wide eyes matching his and tried to steady my breathing.
'Was I... dreaming? It was all a dream?'
"L-Levi... I had a nightmare..."
His voice was shaky and scared. But what caught me off guard was the fact that he had a nightmare too.
"Yeah... I did too... I dreamt I was a soldier. You were in it too. We were walking down the hallway... I think I got upset with you and ran from you. But then you suddenly got hit with a poison dart or something... then when I ran back to you, I got hit too... we both ended up dying..."
When I finished my small story and looked up at him, his eyes were wider than before, and his mouth was agape.
"No way..."
"Eren? What's the matter? It was simply a nightmare, there's no need to worry. It didn't happen in real life, and that's all that-"
"I had the exact same dream..."
