Chapter 7 - Do you know where your children are ?

Tessie seemed to be perfectly happy.

After the breakfast, she refused Michael's money, and she even gave us two pieces of cheesecake with some coffee.
« With that, you should avoid any unwanted hunger during your little trip ! » she said, winking, and smiling widely.
We thanked her, that girl was really adorable, she gave us her phone number, in case we come back around here.
« I absolutely want to be the first one informed when you come back in the neighborhood ! »

I smiled.
She was obviously telling that to Michael. I'm sure that she wouldn't have acted the same way towards me if I'd been the only one coming to this restaurant, this morning.

Michael got up, thanked Tessie again and informed me that he was going to start the car.
I was on the point to get up and follow him when I suddenly felt Tessie pulling me backward.

« Okay, she clearly wants to talk to me and that seems urgent, so let's just join Michael a little bit later... »

She waited for Michael to get out of the restaurant.
When he did, she turned around and looked at me, her eyes were sparkling.
- Wooow...That man is hot, girl !
I couldn't help smiling.

« Ah... I was sure that Michael would be the subject of this conversation.... »

-Yeah... I suppose that he is...
I looked at her, she was smiling like never before, as if she found something in the situation particularly hilarious. Of course, something that I couldn't get..
- You ran away with him don't you ?
My eyes widened.
- It's a kind of bad guy, and he had to run away so to save your relationship, you decided to follow him !

« Oh wow, we're completely in another context, I swear... »

- Tessie, you got it all wrong, Michael and I aren't into a relationship. Michael is my... my...

« Yeah, what the hell is he at the end ? How can I call the man who saved me from my aggressor by kidnapping me but in the same time still protecting me ? »

- Ooooh... That's too bad ! I'm sure that you would make an amazing couple !
-Well, believe me it isn't in our projects...
I was playing nervously with my hair, that's a habit that I have since I'm a little girl. I do this, most of the time, when I feel uncomfortable, and seriously, that conversation with Tessie made me feel really awkward.

- Haha, if you don't want him, then leave him and give him to me !
She began to laugh. I joined her, it was definitely a nervous laugh, yes, but a laugh though. I looked outside and noticed that Michael was waiting in the car just in front of the door.

It was time to leave. I hugged my new friend.
- Take care Moon, and don't let walk away from you, he seems to like you.

«  Haha... Me. Michael. Into a relationship. No fuckin' way, that's impossible. But let's just let her think what she wants. »

I smiled at her and ran outside. When I climbed into the car, Michael was looking at me, smiling lightly.
- Girl, you took your time ! What the hell were you talking about ?
- Some Girl's stuffs Michael, That's none of your business.
He laughed 5 seconds, then began to bite his bottom lip again. I'm not the only one having some habits. He was still smiling, which means that his thoughts were quite funny.
- What are you thinking about Michael ?
I turned around to face him.
- At the way you blushed when I made you notice that you've got an angel's face !

Oh. I looked to the road in front of me. The scene was repeating itself in my mind. And that time, I could notice everything : the way he was looking at me, how much he was close to me, so close that I could feel his breath on my skin, the low tone he took to say that sentence...
Once again, I felt my cheeks becoming red.

« Oh damn no... Not again, please... »

- Yes ! I was talking about this one !
He burst out laughing, the same way he did in the restaurant.
I hid my face behind my hands and began to laugh as well.
The atmosphere and the ambiance between us was really soft and relax since the last time we got an argue. I just knew that it wouldn't last forever...

« I still have something in my mind, though... I'm asking myself a lot of questions, and he is the only one who has got the answers. »

When our hysterical laughter calmed down , I decided to launch the annoying topic.
- Michael ?
- Yeah Moon ?
He was looking at me, still smiling extensively.

« He is so cute when he is smiling.... He seems so happy, so delighted... Damn... God knows that I don't want to do this, I don't want to make him upset, but I don't have the choice... »

- Tell me... Why Gary and Vin kidnapped me ?
I wasn't wrong. As soon as I said that sentence, Michael's expression changed. He gave me a stern look and his hands tightened the wheel so hard that his phalanx became white.

He took a deep breath, and then answered.

- I really don't know, actually, I'm not going to lie to you, I don't care. And seriously, I think you should do the same.

« Okay he wants to protect me from the truth... But I really wanna know...so... Yeah, I don't have the choice, I must make him more angry... I just hope that he won't become violent. »

-Michael, I'm not dumb, I know that they had a reason, and that you know it. I wasn't the first one they kidnaped, isn't it ?
- Moon, I'm not going to say it twice, I told you that I don't know and that I, actually, don't give a fuck. That's their business.

« Okay he is really annoyed. I think... Oh my god, wait one second... Is it HIM who is growling right now ?! Oh man... »

- Michael ! Stop your silly game now ! I'm an adult, okay ? I think that I have the damn right to know !
Suddenly he looked at me.

His gaze was more bitter and rigid than ever. It has nothing to do with the Michael who was comparing me to an angel some minutes ago. I began to feel breathless, he was really intimidating.

- And, I think that you shouldn't have the right to destroy yourself mentally. Moon, believe me, you DON'T want to know what they wanted, you don't want to know what they've done and you certainly do not want to know what they are planning right now.. Let me get you out of this mess, once and for all. Now stop asking me questions or I'm gonna...

- You're gonna do what, Michael ? Rape me ? Strangle me like Gary or Vin tried to ?

He didn't answer. I could see his jaw stiffen violently. I was driving him completely mad and I really hated this. I had to make a bigger pressure on his weak points and I really didn't want to do it. But I knew it was the only way to find out the truth. Michael would never say it it if I used another way.

-Rape or kill somebody like they do would be stooping to their miserable level. I had already killed people, but I'd always done it when I didn't have no choice, when any other situation could have been conceivable. Gary and Vin kill people because they think it's a fucking game.

- Michael... Are you thinking about killing Vin and his gang ?

- If they don't stop, then I'll do it, yes. I can't find another way.

- Why don't you just let them kill me after all ? I mean... You risk more by killing them than by letting them kill me...

He sneered :
-You're so naive Moon... Seriously, if their goal was only to kill you, that would have been easier.... But the damn problem is that they've got other projects, and these projects are going really too far. I can't let them do it. They pushed it too far. You don't know what I'm talking about and I will definitely make everything to keep you in that lack of knowledge.

«  Ok, that's official, I can't take it no more. If he has got something to tell me, I want him to say it RIGHT NOW cause I'm on the verge of collapsing. »

- God damn it Michael ! Tell me what is their damn project ! I'm so fuckin tired, man you're overprotecting me like if I was your damn kid ! Say it ! I need to know, just say it !

He gave in.
I pushed him to his limits.

- They are Human Traffickers ! Their fuckin goal is to SELL YOU, Moon !
My heart stopped.

- They have got a fuckin network of human trafficking. Since the beginning Moon, they want to get you to sell you like a damn object in the east of Europe, and they wanted to force you to prostitute yourself to gain the cash because they kept you under surveillance during 2 months and now they know that you don't have any family, here ! Happy know ?

« Oh my god, No, I'm not happy... No... right now, I'm just completely shocked, completely frozen... I've never been so afraid in my goddamn life... Please tell me that it is a nightmare and that I'm gonna wake up soon... »
