Veronica was stirring a big pot with her wooden spoon and looked up when Becca came in. "Hey, just in time, try this sauce." Veronica dipped a spoon into the sauce and fed it to Becca.

"It's spicy!"

"Good, perfect! I've outdone myself I think. How was the mall?"

"It was good, had to get a few things, like this." She held out the envelope.

Donna took it. "What's this?"

"Rent. I might have to go away for the week. To see Donna."

"Ah, so you are keeping in touch, that's great!" said Veronica with a smile. She stuffed the envelope into her pocket. "Hey, don't miss the mayor! I told you, I'd take you to see the mayor, or wait, I didn't tell you that, but I can take you if you'd like. I mean it is the mayor."

"I might not be back in time for it, but if I'm able to catch it, I'll try and meet up with you."

Veronica nodded. "So when do you leave?"

Becca sighed. She actually didn't know. "Tonight or tomorrow morning. Have to get everything settled, like the rent. Like Ethan. Don't want him to think I skipped out on him."

"Yes, good idea. I'd keep him company for you, but that wouldn't be very nice."

"Yeah, don't do that," laughed Becca. Becca put her hand on her forehead. "Actually I should go see him now and let him know."

"Maybe you should invite him for dinner?"

Becca sighed. "I wish, but I'm going to be spending the night packing."

"I like the way you said that." Veronica giggled. "See you want a whole night with him."

"Wow, everyone's a comedian today." Becca blushed. "Can I take the car again?"

"Sure, I won't be using it today."

"Thanks," said Becca, "I'll make sure I fill the gas tank."

Becca grabbed her jacket, went to the garage where she had parked the car before, then took it on the road once again. She needed a car for herself, or even a motorcycle. Only problem was she didn't know how to ride a motorcycle, well, she did sort of, but she needed a license for that. Also that would complete the sort of part. She parked in the College parking lot and found the dorms. She remembered which one was Ethan's and she knocked on the door. The door opened and she saw him standing there with jeans, white socks and a white T-shirt.

"Hey Becks!" He gave her a kiss. "I really didn't expect you today! Did we have a date?"

"No, no, I had to come see you."

"Come on in."

She stepped inside and he closed the door. He pulled up a chair for her, dusted it off and she sat down and he sat down on the other chair. "I have to go away."

"Oh?"

"Yeah, I'm going out of town to visit a friend of mine. I might be back next week. Just wanted to let you know so you didn't think I skipped out on you."

"I'd never think that," he said laughing. "Is it the same friend I didn't get to meet at the Coffee shop?"

Becca looked up, then looked back at Ethan and shook her head. "Well, sort of. Actually, no, not the same friend, though this friend is a friend of that friend, it's really complicated. She and I grew up together and she popped by this morning since she heard I was here. So I thought I'd spend some time with her."

"I think that's a great idea, hopefully I can meet her one day."

Becca smirked. "Yeah, that'd be nice." It was silent for a couple of minutes, then Becca sighed. "Well, I guess I should be going."
