jean raises an eyebrow at brett once he comes in for their shift. he's smiling again, with lips as red as his cheeks, walking with an aura of victory.
"why are you looking at me like that?"
"will you just cut the bullshit and tell me everything!?"
"sorry, jean. but i don't kiss and tell," brett winks at her. she looks at him, open-mouthed.
"no way."
"oh, yes way."
"was he good?"
"i said i don't kiss and tell," he smiles mischievously.
"come on, you know you want to," she pokes him at his sides. brett opens his mouth to start sharing, but he remembers how it went and his cheeks tint. he giggles to himself like a little girl.
"jesus, you're crazy. yeah, i don't think i wanna hear it anymore. i feel like you'd get a stroke if i made you think about it more," brett laughs at his friend. she goes back to work, checking if everything is set for their shift.
but the funny thing is, he is thinking about the kiss. he remembers exactly how his lips felt against eddy's, how eddy's hands held his neck, how they were so, so close, how eddy's eyes sparkled, how he looked at him with wonder when they parted, how—
"brett. hello? i said the caramel ran out."
"oh, okay. i'm on it," he says, shaking himself out of his thoughts. he comes back to jean fixing up a drink for a customer.
"hey. let me take care of that. i know i've been slacking off lately."
"it's okay. just take the next one."
"okay."
"just don't go texting your boyfriend while we're on shift, yeah?" she teases.
"yeah, yeah, i'm not that mean."
"you guys official?" she asks, noticing his lack of denial.
"what!?"
"you know, boyfriends."
"well…"
"brett! yes or no?" she slaps his arm.
"we didn't really talk about it?" he says unsurely.
"you two. seriously."
"what? so should i just tell him, hey we're boyfriends now, got it?"
"yeah!"
"no!"
"but you kinda already are, though. don't deny it."
"hey, i'm not denying anything."
"then ask him, coward."
"no."
"wimp."
"hey!"
"pussy."
"jean!"
"ask him."
"fine!" brett grabs his phone and dials up eddy's number.
"wait! make it romantic, at least—"
"jean, what the fuck do i do then, it's already ringing. jean, help me. jean—"
"hey! um, i'm studying right now, but do you need anything?" eddy's voice amswers.
"um... well..." brett looks to jean, only to find her serving customers their drinks.
