"Taeyong, she's awake." The girl behind the screen wasted no time pressing the green button on the desk to activate the phone call with the leader. "What do you want us to do?" She asked soon after, not waiting for a response to the statement she had made, without leaving the gaze on the girl who was laying on the bed.
Taeyong smiled, he knew he could trust her being the most efficient one when it came to those things, it either was her or Doyoung the only ones who could stand him when he got so paranoid. And he also knew that she wasn't so chill about this girl either, something was off and she had told him when he asked her if she could monitor her.
"Call Sicheng. I don't think she can stand up and get through an interrogation now," he said calmly, trying to analyze what was the best thing to do. He wanted to call Doyoung, but he was out for affairs he couldn't postpone, he had to stay calm and solve this shit by himself. He was the leader, anyway, right?
Liv nodded, just to remind herself that Taeyong couldn't see her. "Fine, I'll keep you updated once he's finished?" She asked as her fingers moved smoothly across the big touch screen on the desk, ready to tell Sicheng to come over.
"Yes, thanks," he mumbled, rotating in his chair as nervousness consumed him. "Wait, how's she?"
Liv furrowed her eyebrows. How could she know? Sicheng didn't arrive yet, and there was no way she could make a medical response at that distance.
"I mean, how's she's acting," Taeyong added, answering the unspoken question.
"Oh," the red-haired girl left out a gasp, finally understanding what he wanted to know. "Strange," she whispered, moving her gaze up and down the tired body of the outsider. "I mean, she seems way too calm. Shouldn't she be afraid?" Liv had no idea what to think about it. If she had been in her situation, she would've already turned the place upside down to try to escape. But this girl was immobile; the only thing moving hungrily of curiosity around the room and on her were her eyes.
Taeyong hummed, thinking about it too. Yes, it was strange, but what else was she supposed to do? Probably being alive was a surprise for her too, and she knew that fighting would've led to nothing.
"I think we're overthinking. Maybe she has nothing to hide," Taeyong said snapping out of his thoughts. "Kun and Sicheng proved it, right?" Liv hummed, taking a better look at her, it was impossible for her to be a decoy, wasn't it? When they found her she was basically dead, and it wasn't due to any strange potion that inflicted a fake-death status. She was weak and had nothing with her.
"Talking about him." Her mind soon gained control of what she was supposed to be doing when Sicheng waved at her, signalling he was ready to get in. "Why there's Jaemin with him?" She asked Taeyong, as a confused look appeared on her face as soon as her gaze landed on the boy behind Sicheng.
"Training."
"I thought you forbidden that in these situations."
"Yeah, but Jaemin really wanted to take part in this, he says he never has the chance to practice on real people." The red-haired man let out a huff as he rolled his eyes. Liv kind of perceived it and giggled. Taeyong always seemed so firm in his decisions but sometimes it was so easy to dissuade him.
"Anyway, I'll let you know when we're over, okay?" She asked, pointer finger ready to press the green button again to shut the connexion.
"Yes, but don't go in. You might scare her and we can't let that happen," he said, hanging up instead.
Liv huffed, she wanted to remark his affirmation, there was no way she could scare her, but right now she couldn't do anything but obey.
