The corridors of the Neo Palace weren't the most reassuring thing on earth, and walking down them as the night hovered over the city made them look even creepier.

The presence of Liv at her side made the outsider feel strange anxiety in her chest. She wasn't so afraid anymore, none of them looked like they wanted to hurt her, or kill her. But not knowing who they were didn't let her relax completely. What if they knew who she was escaping from? What if they were going to return her back as a trade? Sicheng and Jaehyun sounded so mysterious the other day, as if they were hiding something, and the healer said that they were going through some problems. They would never use her to get out of trouble, wouldn't they?

Panic started to run in her veins and she stopped abruptly in the middle of the corridor.

Liv turned around as soon as she realized that the outsider wasn't following her anymore. Her left eyebrow was lifted and her head tilted to the side.

"Is everything fine?" It was the first time she heard the emerald-eyed girl's voice, it was raspy and soothing at the same time. But it wasn't enough to calm her down, not even the warm smile she was giving now.

"No." She refused to stare back at her, if she met her eyes she would've burst into tears and honestly, she had no strength to cry anymore.

When Liv understood that she had no intention of following her, she decided to get closer instead. A silent curse crossed her mind, she was terrible at comforting people and showing any type of emotions. As much as she had already paid the price for not telling someone she loved them before losing them forever, she never learned the lesson. She was like that, she would've stained her hand with blood for the one she cared for but wouldn't pronounce the words 'I love you" out loud.

"Hey," she approached slowly, raising a hand to place it on her shoulder, she didn't flinch at the contact and Liv sighed in relief. "Do you want me to call Sicheng?" She had so many other things in mind but that seemed like the most reasonable one, she had no idea why Taeyong had chosen her to look after her, honestly.

The outsider shook her head and started walking slowly. She was more than sure that he had had enough of her.

"You don't want to send me back to them, right?" She whispered, so low that Liv found it hard to hear her.

"No, God. We don't even know who you're running away from," the red-haired exclaimed, moving her hand in the air.

The outsider nodded, not convinced. Why were they being so nice to her? Shouldn't she already be locked in a cage by now?

"And even if we knew, we would never do that anyway. We're not bad people," Liv continued and started walking at her side.

"Do you, do you, perhaps, know the names of, you know?" Liv mumbled, mimicking with her hands the words she was scared to say out loud, afraid of triggering something in the outsider. The silence was getting awkward and she wanted to know more about whoever hurt her; because it wasn't normal for the girl to be that scared.

"I wish I knew. I wish I even remember something clearly," she sighed, raising her gaze from the ground and staring at the deep green pools of the girl at her side.

Then they entered a big bedroom, the walls were ivory, they were decorated with golden elements and a big chandelier was hanging from the ceiling that was also decorated with oval shapes. The bedsheets were golden too and had black embroidery. It looked majestic and royal.

"I just remember the pain I had been through, the sensation but not actual images. They're all blurred and shaky, sometimes it's agonizing, you know?" She confessed, maybe getting it out of her chest would've helped.
