Chapter 29

Ash stormed across the field, grabbing Jake's helmet off his head and throwing it. I was beginning to think that he was going to shift in front of all the humans. He was shaking uncontrollably.

"I'm going to kill you," he said staring Jake down.

Jake just smirked, making me want to roll my eyes. Boys and their egos. Before I could blink, Jake shoved him. Ash punched him in the face a few times before I broke them up. Jake tried to go around me and I put my hands on his chest pushing him back.

"This is my mate, go find your own,"Ash emphasized, wrapping his arms around my waist. I could still feel him shaking and I felt his teeth graze my neck. I turned around quickly seeing his eyes shifting to the gold color.

I looked around to see a bunch of humans gathered around staring at us. I could feel Ash on the verge of shifting. He put me behind his back as Jake charged at us. He pushed him back again, turning to wrap his arms back around me.

"Ash please calm down," I whispered.

"Please I'm trying not to rip his throat out. My wolf is going crazy, I'm about to shift," he said, putting his face in my neck.

"Say you're mine,"He whispered.

"I'm not yours, remember? You rejected me," I tested, trying to shove him away.

"I'm so sorry, I was the biggest dumbass ever. Please just say you're mine,"he muttered, grabbing my hands.

I shook my head. I looked Jake in the eyes over his shoulder. He looked really hurt.

'Jake I'm so sorry' I mindlinked him.

'Just do it. The idiot is about to shift and reveal us all'

'You know it's not true'

"I'm yours," I whispered soothingly in Ash's ear. I couldn't believe I was saying this. I felt like the worst person ever. I just couldn't have him risking our species.

His arms tightened around me and his shaking stopped. He kissed my neck and went to kiss me. I turned my head to the side, letting him kiss my cheek.

"I thought I lost you," he whispered.

"I may be your mate, but I won't be with you," I said pushing him away and storming off.

After school, I got a ride home from Jake. It was spent in a uncomfortable silence which was unlike us.

"Jake what about your mate?" I asked. I really wanted to meet her. Although I was little jealous, I couldn't help wanting to meet the girl. I just wanted to know what she was like.

"What about her?" He asked, with a shrug. I gave him a flat look.

"Are you seriously telling me you don't feel anything for her?" I said thinking about how I feel for Ash. Even though the idiot pissed me off, I still couldn't deny the feelings I had for him. I just wasn't going to let him hurt me again.

"Of course I do. I just haven't figured things out yet. I don't know why the moon goddess would give me a second mate and I'm in love with you," he said turning to stare at me.

"Eyes on the road bucko," I said in fake southern accent making him laugh.

"Man that pissed me off so bad today. No offense, but your mate is a dumbass," he said. I could already see the dark bruises that had formed on the side of his face.

"Like I don't already know this," I said as we pulled up to my house.

When I got inside, I changed into a pair of sweatpants and a tank top. Jake was laying on my bed playing with my puppy. We had finally cleaned the house up and my parents were suppose to be home in the next few days.

I went down to the kitchen and put some ice in a bag. I laid down beside Jake before pressing the ice against his face. He gave me a small smile and leaned in to kiss me. I kissed him back, moving closer to him. I dropped the bag of ice running my hands through his hair. He took his shirt off and held my face.

"Jet!!" I heard Ash yell making me jump.

"Are you kidding me?"Jake growled. Barely a minute passed before I heard a knock on my door. Jake jumped up opening to door before I could say anything.

"Do you need something?"Jake asked with a glare.

"I need to speak to my mate mutt,"Ash said shoving him to the side. I couldn't even get a word out as Ash picked me up and headed out of the door.

"Ash put me down you asshole," I said smacking his back.

We were now out of the house and walking towards the woods. We eventually stopped by a lake where Ash laid me down. He laid down beside me and we just stared at the sky in silence.

"Why him?" He asked out of the blue.

"Ash I really don't feel like talking about this," I said, giving him a hard look.

"Well I do. Look I know I put you through hell, but you're mine. I love you and I can't watch you be with him. It hurts too much," he said grabbing my face and forcing me to look at him.

I can't believe this shit. I was starting to feel like I was in a twilight movie, with this crazy ass love triangle. I jumped up, putting my hands up.

"Look Ash, I just need some time," I pleaded, before turning around. I needed to figure out what to do and soon. Jake kept on questioning me when I got home. I didn't know what to say. I packed my bag and was shopping for plane tickets when I finally snapped out of it. What the hell was I doing? These guys were going to drive me crazy. I didn't know who to choose. My mate or my best friend.

Alright so team Jake or Ash?? Haven't really decided how the end of this book is going to go, but I'm going to wrap it up soon.
