Chapter 27

Jake's P.o.v.

I thought about telling her tonight, but it could wait until tomorrow I decided. I wasn't even sure of what I was going to say. Especially now that I had found my mate.

I winced as I thought about it. She was beautiful, don't get me wrong. I just had to sort things out with Dawn first, I had let this go on for too long without saying anything.

I barely slept that night. I stared at the ceiling fan spinning around and around for hours. When I checked the clock, it was 3 in the morning. I closed my eyes, trying to force my mind to go blank.

-Dawn-

I woke up the next morning, still pissed about the Trey thing. I couldn't believe the audacity of that asshole. It was time someone stood up to him.

I brushed my teeth and took a quick shower. After I got out, I slipped on a pair of black jeans with a Adidas tank-top. I then brushed my raven black hair back into a ponytail.

I checked the clock, seeing we had 30 minutes before school started. I then noticed Jake wasn't there to annoy me this morning which was odd. He almost always woke up before me.

I walked down the hall to his room. Pushing the door open, I saw the tanned figure of my best friend sprawled out on the bed. He was in nothing, but his boxers. He was snoring loudly, making me shake my head.

"Jake, wake up"

I shook his shoulder and he swatted my arm away. He rolled over on his back so I could now see his face. He still had his eyes closed and I tried one more time to wake him up.

"Jake" I said loudly, poking his cheek. His mouth twitched and he mumbled something I didn't hear.

"Okay last time I'm warning you" I threatened. Still nothing happened.

I signed before leaving the room. I came back in a minute later with a squirt gun.

I squirted water in his face making his eyes widen and his mouth pop open. I then continued to squirt water in his open mouth, while he make some weird gurgling noise. He opened and closed his mouth like a fish, before spitting out a mouthful of water. I couldn't help, but laugh hysterically.

"Are you kidding me"

"Sorry Jake. We got like 25 minutes till school starts. You got to get a move on."

"You could of just woken me up like a normal person" he growled.

"I tried, but I definitely enjoyed this way a little too much"

"I'm glad" he said sarcastically before pulling a pair of jeans out of a drawer and slipping them on. He then took a shirt off of a hanger and pulled it over his head, putting on his shoes quickly. He brushed through his hair that was sticking up in all directions before brushing his teeth. After he was finished, he shot me a big smile.

"This is the only reason I wish I was a guy" I muttered as he literally got ready in 5 minutes.

We both walked out to my car. I handed him the keys and decided I wanted control of the radio instead.

Let's just say that car ride was interesting. We pulled up at the school, the parking lot crowded as always. My eyes landed on one particular person immediately. He was already staring intently at the car as if he could see me through the dark windows. My wolf whined and I rolled my eyes at her behavior.

"Alright well I got to get to practice. I'll see you later, okay? I have to talk to you about something after school"

I snapped out of it, turning to look Jake in the eyes. I just nodded opening the door. I walked towards the front doors of the school when I heard a loud giggle. I couldn't help, but to look back at Ash. He had some blonde bimbo hanging off his arm.
