Chapter 2: The Black Bulls

Y/N was standing around with Yami, Finral, and Gordon. The four of them were waiting for Asta to meet them. The gray haired teen came out from the bathroom and ran to them. Yami grabbed his head and started to squish it, "What the hell took you so long? How big was the dump that you took?" Asta held out his arms to describe the size of the dump, but that only made Yami angrier. Y/N let out a sigh, "This might be more trouble than it's worth." Finral asked Yami to hurry and go through the portal, but the captain just told the spatial mage to push past his limits. Y/N decided to walk through the portal. 

Y/N looked around and saw that they were in a forest. He hummed, "Guess this is where the Black Bulls' base is." A few seconds later, he heard someone yelling. He turned only for Asta to be thrown at him. The two boys ended up face planting into the dirt. Y/N stood up and rubbed the dirt off. Asta stood up soon after and the two of them looked at the building in front of them. Y/N said, "That must be the base." Asta had stars in his eyes, "Wow. That place looks amazing. And from this day forward, we're a part of this squad. Let's make our entrance." Y/N frowned, "'Our.' Why are you placing the two of us in the same group?" However, Asta had already made his way to the door and opened it to introduce himself. Y/N walked up next to him and saw that none of the squad members were even paying attention. It seemed that not a single one of them had even noticed that the two of them were there. Y/N looked at the chaos they were making, "This certainly is the Black Bulls. No doubt about it." Yami walked in and silenced the others by smashing his fist against a wall. Once the other noticed that their captain was there, they ran up to him and began talking to him. Yami yelled at them to sit down, which they did.

Asta redid his introduction, "I'm Asta from Hage village!! I'm a new member to this squad! I hope we can get along!!" Y/N flinched, "God, you're so loud." He turned to see that the Black Bulls were staring at him. Y/N cleared his throat, "Uh, I'm Y/N from V/N. I just joined today as well. I hope that we don't fight." Asta frowned, "Why did you say that you hope you don't fight?" Y/N said, "Because I am ninety-five percent certain that we won't get along." Finral said, "Oh well. You're probably right. Well, I'll start the introductions." He began introducing each independent member and their quirks. Asta bowed to them, "Nice to meet you." The witch named Vanessa came up to him, "From Hage, huh? That's way out in the boonies. Good job making it into the Magic Knights. Do you want a reward?" Asta blushed at her offer, "No thank you! I already decided on the woman that I plan to marry." Suddenly, Vanessa threw up in front of him. The delinquent named Magna came up to them, "Hage and V/N, huh? That's way out in the boonies. You think punks like you got what it takes to join the Black Bulls. Not until you have one of these robes." He grabbed his Black Bulls robe. Asta's eyes sparkled as he said that he wanted one. Magna chuckled, "Well then, you gotta pass the baptism." 

The group went outside. Magna quickly explained that they had to either stop his attack or avoid it in order to pass. Asta was the first to go. He pulled out his black sword.  Y/N perked up at the chance to see the swords that could negate magic. Vanessa smirked at him, "Oh, do you like battling? You seem excited." Y/N glanced her way before returning his gaze to the fight, "No, those swords simply have an unusual ability. I'm just curious as to how they work." The baptism began with Magna throwing a flame spell at Asta. The gray haired boy turned his sword to the side to deflect the attack back at Magna. The Black Bulls gasped. Finral was shocked as he put down his grimoire, "That's the first time in a while that I haven't saved a newbie." Y/N frowned, "What sort of squad is this?" The Black Bulls began to gather as Magna appeared from the smoke, having survived the deflected attack with another attack. he congratulated Asta and gave him his robe. Vanessa then used her magic to add the Black Bulls' crest to Asta's headband. Y/N frowned, "Well, they seem like nice enough people. Not like most of the Magic Knights." "Hey, Y/N." The boy jumped as his name was called. Magna waved for him to come. Y/N asked, "Do you need some time to rest? You look in pretty bad shape." Magna scoffed, "Yeah right. I don't need pity from a kid. Let's get this over with." Y/N sighed, "Fine."

Y/N pulled out his grimoire as Magna started charging his spell. Y/N spoke his first, "Celestial Magic: Open, gate of the maiden, Virgo." A pink haired lady in a maid outfit appeared from a golden circle.

Virgo bowed to him, "Is it time for punishment my prince?" Y/N cringed, "No, of course not. I need you to punish this idiot." He pointed to Magna, who was in total shock of the woman who suddenly appeared. Virgo ran to him and started beating him into the ground. Y/N said, "Stop Virgo. That's enough." Virgo stopped punching Magna, revealing a completely bloody form. Virgo bowed to her master, "Please call upon me again whenever you need me." She disappeared in a golden light. The Black Bulls came up to him. "What was that?" "Holy crap!" "That was awesome!" "You can summon hot girls!! I'm so jealous!!" "Bring her back. I wanna fight her!!" "Can she make delicious nummies?" Y/N backed up from them, "Uh, give me a minute." He began to briefly explain how his magic worked and what Celestial Spirits were. The others seemed to understand. Yami took out a robe and placed it on Y/N. He smiled, "Well, whatever. Welcome to the Black Bulls." Magna managed to stand up, "Well then, it's time for a tour of the base. Let's go you two!!" Asta excitedly followed him. Y/N called out, "Wait, you shouldn't be moving so soon." 

Y/N was out of breathe as he tried to keep up with Asta and Magna. After a few minutes, Y/N suddenly felt an enormous amount of magic power. He was so startled by it that he ended up running into a brick wall and falling unconscious.

Y/N slowly opened his eyes and saw a strange creature standing above him.

Y/N held the creature, "Oh, are you a new Celestial Spirit?" The creature nodded and pointed to his grimoire. Y/N looked at it, "Okay, so your name is Nikolai, but it seems like there are a lot of you. I know, I'll call you Plue. Is that okay?" The creature nodded. "Y/N!!!!" The boy turned to see Asta running to him, "Where were you? You missed a bunch of stuff." Y/N sighed, "Just tell me about it as we head to the infirmary."
