I finally arrived to the house as the sun was setting. It was just a medium sized rectangle cabin with a kitchen/dining room area, a bathroom, and 5 small rooms. Petra was waiting for me and stood up from the table quickly when I walked in, a panicked look on her face.
"Is that brat finally here?"
I glanced at her with my own panicked look as I heard Levi angrily call from another room. I guess I was later than he was expecting me.
The handsome Captain stomped out into the kitchen and I couldn't suppress the laugh that escaped my mouth. He had a bandana on his head, another around his throat and he was holding a broom. A cute little maid.
"What took you so damn long? We've been cleaning without you." His tone was sharp and his eyes were cold. I glanced between him and a petrified looking Petra.
"Well, uh sorry I missed it?"
"You won't be alive to miss it next time. Start obeying orders or leave." He shot me one last cold look then stepped back into the room to continue cleaning.
"What a freak," I whispered to Petra with a giggle. She didn't think my comment was as funny.
She gave me a disappointed look and crossed her arms. Petra was like the mom of our little friend group. She didn't like swearing or inappropriate comments, and she was always disappointed, not angry. Everyone knows that's worse.
"Captain Levi is right, you know. You need to learn to follow orders better now that we're on his squad. This is a big deal," she said, scolding me like I'm her child even though I was older than her.
She wasn't entirely wrong I suppose. Growing up, my family was so strict on how to act, how to dress, how to speak. We had to be perfect. My rebellious nature stemmed from that and has since carried on into adulthood.
"Fine, mother," I teased. She huffed but chose not to push the matter further, knowing it wasn't going to get her very far.
My bag began to feel heavier the longer we stood there and Petra took notice that I was struggling.
"Oh! Here, you and I are in this room!"
She led me to the room next door to the one Levi was currently scrubbing. Mine and Petra's was already spic and span, looking like she had cleaned it. It was plain with 2 wooden beds on each side of the room with cedar chests for our belongings placed at the end of them, and a single desk with a chair in the middle.
"I'm sorry you had to clean this yourself, I was saying goodbye to Hange and answering her questions," I said as I placed my things on top of the bed nestled in the far right corner of the room.
"It's okay, Levi helped. He wanted to show me exactly how he wanted it done," she said with a blissful sigh. She really was smitten for the short stack.
I flashed her a look and wiggled my eyebrows suggestively. "Oh he showed you did he? Did you bend over for him and get in there real nice?"
She blushed fiercely and shooed me as I teased her. Hopefully the walls weren't too thin or the man in question would certainly hear us.
"Stop, Gwen. You're embarrassing me. Plus he might hear you!"
I raised my hands in surrender. "Fine, fine. But still, sorry I wasn't here."
She closed our door then sat down on her bed and shrugged. "It's okay, I didn't mind the alone time with him honestly," she admitted.
I gasped in fake shock to tease Petra. She was such an easy target for it. "Why, Petra you little harlot."
