Ch 55

hours later

Avery had her face in her arms, on the desk thinking and trying to process what happened a couple of hours earlier.

The door to Avery's office opens.

Avery: "please leave I'm not in the mood"

Nat: "Avery what's going on?"

Avery looks up

Avery: "baby just leave me alone, please. i just want to be alone"

Nat: "baby? Why the hell are you calling me baby?!"

Avery: "what do you mean?"

Natasha laughs

Nat: "what makes you think we are together"

Avery: "what do you mean? We got married almost 10 years ago"

Nat: "why would I ever marry you. You killed my best friend and almost killed me, you also killed my family. I hate you so much, Avery"

Avery: "Talia-"

Nat:"Talia? You haven't called me that since we were 12. Besides, you don't deserve to call me that. It was a good thing I left you at the red room when we were younger. You deserved everything that they did to you"

Avery: "how can you say that Natalia?!!"

She walks over to Avery and strikes her against the face

Avery: "ow. Talia, please stop?"

She starts to cry

Natasha kicks Avery and Avery screams in pain

Nat: "Avery, Avery!"

Avery: "no please don't don't hit me again!"

Nat: "what?! why would I do that, why would I hit you, Avery?!"

Avery:" I-I"

Nat: "Avery look at me"

Avery looks up at Natasha with fear in her eyes

Natasha hugs Avery

Nat: "hey shhh shhh it's alright, I'm not going to hurt you. I promise"

She kisses Avery

Avery: "I don't know what's happening to me I-I"

Nat: "hey calm down. Let's head home you've had a stressful couple of days"

Avery nods

A couple of hours later they arrive home

Alexei: "mom you are back"

Nat: "not now Alexei. she isn't feeling well"

Alexei: "sorry"

Nat: "it's fine. Keep on playing on the Xbox I'm going to get her to bed"

Avery: "no I'm fine Natalia"

Nat: "no you aren't let's get you to bed"

They walk to their room. Natasha sits Avery down on the bed

Avery: "Natalia im fine seriously"

Nat: "Avery no you are not,"

Avery: "nata-"

Natasha puts her right hand over avery's mouth

Nat: "Эйвери, ты прямо сейчас ложишься спать, я не хочу слышать возражений или чего-то еще, в порядке(Avery, you are going to bed right now, I don't want to hear an objection or anything okay)"

Avery nods

Natasha grabs some clothes from their shared closet and walks back over to Avery

Nat: "here, go change?

5 minutes later

Avery walks out of the bathroom and  lays down on the bed

Avery: "Talia can you lay down with me at least...please"

Nat: "sure, just give me a couple of minutes. I need to make sure Alexei is in bed"

A few minutes later

Nat: "Avery, Avery"

Avery doesn't respond

Nat: "Avery?"

Avery was backed into a corner crying

Nat: "Avery?"

Natasha shakes Avery and looks at Avery's eyes

They were black

Nat: "what the f*ck!"

Nat: "Avery"

She shakes her again

Nat: "forgive me, babe"

Natasha punches Avery's jaw and Avery snaps back to normal

Avery blinks and her eyes go back to normal

Avery: "Natalia what the hell"

Natasha grabs Avery's arm

Avery: "Natalia what's going on"

Nat: "avery what was going on right now, why were you crying and backed into a corner. and your eyes were black!"

Avery: "i-i"

Nat: "don't lie to me Avery!"

Avery: "I don't know, i don't know. I i saw the winter soldier infront of me"

Nat: "bucky?"

Avery shakes her head

Avery: "no me, the winter soldier me!"

Nat: "what?!"

Avery: "I dont know how and then i saw i i can't explain"

Natasha grabs a coat and throws it at Avery

Avery: "why are you, what are you doing Natalia?"

Nat: "put your coat on, carol and Wanda are coming over to watch Alexei. We are going to the triskelion"

Avery: "what why!?"

Nat: "avery this isnt normal, you are seeing yourself. Thats one thing to see but you're seeing your old mind-controlled assassin self. Thats not normal and that's not right. Come on"
